'World's fastest woman' hits 200mph on Fireblade - | Motorcycle News | Bike News | Motorbike Videos | MCN
Mine was doing 186 (GPS, not speedo, as the speedo was topping out) on the Autobahn last year and still pulling.
Had a R6 for a few years and fancied a change to a thou. First thought R1 but first sit on it, just didn't like it just seemed too big and bulky for me, blade was next option and felt right as soon as say on it and test ride confirmed it for me!
Well you can't argue with that but how can it be? They claim the bike's unmodified, but, as I understand it, standard bikes are limited to 299kph/186mph?
its not standard, check the bit me an art got slightly off topic lol http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/9735-3.htm
Simply it was the bike I always wanted! just loved the looks and the performance from watching them on the BSB. So after 10 years out of biking I got a CBR600, had that for two years then thought F*** it I'm getting the bike I always wanted. So sold the 6 and I got myself the best blade I could afford. I now have a blue/black/silver rr5 and I love it! Shiny
Reliability and reputation I wanted a bike to cover lots of miles in Europe on, and wanted the most hassle free bike. And when I test rode one I knew it was the bike for me. Fast, and effortless to ride. 20 years of pedigree shine through. And it's a Fireblade. Legend
Had a demo of the KTM RC8, the Ducati 848, Triumph Speed Triple, Daytona 675R and a GSXR1000. KTM was fantastic, loads of grunt, and dead comfy…Loved it. Looks the dogs gonads too IMO. 848, Ace on the twisties, but felt no quicker than my Daytona 650. Daytona 675, Too uncomfy, but nice sound. Tiny. GSXR1000, LTD… nice! great low down, but looks old. Never looked at Hondas, didn't really like the pre 08 blades, but seen a burgundy and black and a yellow 09 at the Ponderosa. I liked the look of them, and the small tail. Chunky and GP like. Went to Manchester to do a bit of shopping and took the lad out for a Mcdonalds, popped into Hunts for a look round, and bought the Blade within 10 minutes, no test ride. I'd still like an RC8 in white though.
Brought my first blade a black and white RR8 only 6 months ago and I am loving it Always been a honda man I've had 3 CBR600s gsxr 750 zxr 750 ducati paso 750 Vfr 750 vfr 400 & sp2 and countless more bikes but never had a 4 cylinder litre bike tried a 98 R1 what a great engine but wanted something modern loved the colour of the rr8 it did Have some really good wright ups just had to have it The thing is bl##dy fast the reminds me of my 600s I've had I'm gonna really enjoy this summer
I had an original back in 92 and loved it to death and I guess I always longed for another Blade to re-live my youth after many other bikes. I had a 929 in Y2K but that just didn't seem to hit the same spot. Then in 2009 riding past a Honda dealership on my Gixer 1000 I pulled in to have a mooch and there in the showroom was 2 Repsols, one C-ABS the other not and the rest is history. The ABS went chips but Honda replaced it and I went for the HRC and I aint gonna part with it cos it's awesome.
Same here bilo, I had an original back in 93 on a K Reg, kept it for 2 years and put 14K on it as it's all I had back then. Sold it in 95 for a deposit on a house. Not had another Bike in 18 years till 1 month ago! Just had to be another Blade...................................fek me they've got a tadge quicker!
Just look at it need I say more Untitled by (MrB), on Flickr Plus I look cool as riding it MrB by (MrB), on Flickr
Always been a kwak man, started on a GPZ500S when I first passed my test, then had 3 ZX9Rs, then a Z1000, moved onto a ZX10R and then my last bike was a zzr1400. Loved all of them. I have had 2 CBR600 track bikes and loved those. Decided I needed a change and although I have never really liked the earlier blades I loved the look of the RR8 model onwards and decided that I could live with one in the garage but only if it was in the HRC colours. Right bike came up at the right price, 09 model so it now sits in the garage waiting to be used in anger when that big round orange thing in the sky decides to make an appearance!
How did ya find the ZZR1400 Doodles? I looked long and hard at one of those due to wanting some comfort as well as 'Warp Factor 9 Mr Sulo'. In the end threw caution to the wind and bought another Blade, albeit a modified comfier version!
...and from my '92 Blade this is the only thing I have left from it and the memories. Great bike, great feeling riding it, exactly the same as my current Blade.
The ZZR was great, its the smoothest bike I have ever ridden. It did everything so easily. I bought all the GIVI hard luggage and top box for it and toured South of France and Switzerland with the other half on the back and it was a pleasure to ride. I even managed a Silverstone trackday on it too. Nothing touched it on the straights but the corners was another story!! Grinding everything out!!
Mid life crisis or something like that, anyway that's what the mrs says. They weren't around when I was a lad, so I thought sod it, why should all the young guns have all the fun. I must say my son said "Your taking what out for a test ride"
