me and a mate from work (who rides a k8 gsxr1000) was asked to drive a van load of stuff from work here in cornwall to the outskirts of oxford yesterday (first time we had a road trip in 20 years at work). glorious day all the way up and when we headed out of swindon on the a420 towards oxford within a few minutes we just both said wish we were on the bikes. a little bumpy in places but wow what a road fast sweepers and some arrow straights. might have to venture that way again soon with the bike, but we did get a look around the blade honda group and the shop that used to be george whites. roll on summer!!
Know the feeling mate. I come down to Tempest in St Ives a lot and even though its dual carraigeway, the A30 in weather like this is screaming bike at me but I'm always loaded to the gunwales with kit so have to take the car.
