if your doing two days, then spend some time going from the ring down to cochem (nice place to stop for breakfast) and follow the mosel river, great fast road with lovely scenery, then head cross country to pick up the 48 which will make a reall good day of it!

We do a 5 day raid, across the Channel, down the Western side of France to the Pyrenees hitting around Brive or Montauban at end of day 1, fantastic roads there, then head east to the Grand Vosage region, across to the Mulhouse area and onto Waldshut and pick up the start of the B500 and ride north through the Schwarzwald, encompassing the 48, some good biker hotels throughout the area, then return home via Strasbourg on the autoroute which is a crap day, but the need for miles against time, you will encompass some stunning biking roads with great surfaces, fantastic passes in the Pyrenees, and top riding in southern France and Germany, only stopping when we can ride no further, around 3K miles. Always a great trip.
Yep, you hate getting back on after day 2, pressure points are sore, but the worst thing is the day after its over, and having to get back on it and commute...feck me its so sore!
Mid Wales - a route known as the 'Rhyadder Ring' formed by the A483/A470/A44 encompassing Newtown, Rhyadder and Crossgates. Amazing surface, no traffic, brilliant mix of twisties and fast sweepers And what's best is that it's a loop, so you can repeat it again and again!

For three of the past five years I've stopped in Vianden in Luxembourg. Great little town with cheapy cheap pub rooms, reasonable hotel rates (we did a walk in last year to the poshest one in the village and it was 65 euros with breakfast) just outside the centre is the Hostellerie Nagel which specialises in bikers accommodation, we stopped for 3 nights with dinner and breakfast for 70 euros each, did it cheaper one year when we went self catering. Full of dutch and german bikers who are really friendly and up for a bit of drink fuelled banter. The looping route from there over into Germany on the L1 is fantastic, up to the L10 then down the L4 and back onto the L1 is good tarmac, stunning scenery and mix of twisties and open sweepers. From Vianden to Esch sur Sure, couple of options but the 27 is a tester of your hip swivelling speed. Stayed in Esch one year, tiny place, two hotels one café, full of bikes! Leave Esch on the 27 heading west, then back to Vianden on the 308 and the 353. Vianden to Baden Baden for the B500 is a half day ride, and its only 70 miles from the Ring. I was on an EU funded course last year and met some Luxembourg cops, told them they were the first I'd ever seen! Luxembourg has 1500 cops, 1200 0f them in the capital, you never see one in the countryside.
Got agree there. Was based in Germany for seven years and every weekend we would load our bikes up with a tent/sleeping bag/slab of cheap beer, then head down to campsites around Cochem and the Mosel valley. The roads/scenery around there are breathtaking.

How about the A4 between Newbury and Marlborough? Wide, fast sweeping bends, good visibility, little traffic. And it feels like time stopped there when they built the M4. Maybe not the best road in the world, but a lot more fun that the motorway.
Any of the mountain passes in Switzerland for me. I have done several euro trips now, South of France via Route Napoleon is ace but I always end up going either our or back via Switzerland. This place.... Hotel Astoria in Ulrichen - Obergoms | Hotel Astoria im Obergoms in Ulrichen - Langlaufen im Goms - Motorrad Hotel Goms - Wandern im Goms - Aktivhotel Wallis is a fantastic place to stay. They have wash facilities for the bikes, secure garage storage and the hosts are great and it is a very popular bikers hotel. From here you are right in the heart of some fantastic rides... Neufenen pass, Gothard Pass, Furka pass, Grimsel pass etc etc and its only a couple of hours ride to the Italian lakes from here too. The Swiss keep most of their roads in fantastic condition even with all the snow and ice they have and the roads up and down the various passes are mostly great for riding and the views are great too.
