BMW's Bike Warranty Dept's have been reet busy apparently since the S1000R was launched!

It might be the Daddy when it's working properly but it still aint no Honda in the reliability and 'solidness' dept'

True fact, mate got a Mk2 S1000rr, after 9 months at service told 'serious corrosion round sump plug, new sump needed - out of warranty, customer to pay'

£280 later he had a new sump

THen others came to light and finally BMW agreed to replace rusting sumps under warranty

It's not just sumps, they've had Calipers and all sorts rottin' away by the minute!

I like the way BMW say "It's out of warranty Son" at 9 months old! lol

The s1000 may be the gleamingest ride out there but if it cannot handle a regular filthy commute it is no use to me.

So thats why the HD an BMW riders are grumpy and never
Wave back around my way.they are afriad to let go of the
    Bars incase something falls off.
I notice the so called unreliable ducati brand wasn't up there

I must say that besides my newly acquired 'blade I also ride a BMW R1100S. This pic' was recently posted on the owners forum. So who's clocked up the highest mileage/kilometers on a blade?

I normally put 75 to 90 k on a Blade before chopping it, estimate in the last 12 years of Blade ownership I am closing in on 250000k miles

My M3 had 20k of warranty work in 3 years, and that was not uncommon.

dont even start on cars, I think most modern ones like some bikes arnt made with the same reliability
they had years ago.to many electronics and gadgets that go wrong, god knows how many faults I have
had with my audi, saying that I have 169k on it now.
