My figures were almost identical to yours Gos, (yours isn't a red one too is it?). Mine was done at Shaun Muir Racing by James Ellison's crew chief, Mick Shanley and I was told similar, that mine was the strongest std blade they'd had on their dyno at that point. The top end is a bit irrelevant for a road bike but I think the the top and 5th gear roll-on is really impressive and so smooth. My engine didn't have lots of miles on it (still doesn't) but I wasn't afraid to rev it out now and then when I was running in. Nothing wrong with revving them now and then
Yep PCV and custom map makes all the difference. I put an R77 on mine and it made the lower revs a bit wooly. Had the PCV fitted and set up by Motrac Racing in Ellesmere Port and it transformed the bike with 171bhp, not that I notice that on the road anyway but it's nice to know.
No, I was just a punter off the street (they're the closest dyno to me) but Mick was a nice bloke and gave me the 'royal' tour of the workshops, engine building room, dyno room etc. It would have been worth taking it to them just for the tour but the bike felt great afterwards, a very noticable difference.
Mate, you didn't load your map onto the American 1000RR site did you? I downloaded one from HM racing on there for my bike and it seems brilliant.
I'm thinking of doing this mod. Does the R77 midpipe have provision for the oxygen sensor or is it not used and an eliminator fitted? The sites I have looked at for buying the PC5 dont seem to mention that you need to buy an 02 sensor eliminator as well, so thats why I'm asking perhaps a dumb question.
Mates one had the lambda sensor hole which he fitted his standard lambda sensor into. You have to buy the 02 sensor eliminator separate, Dynojet do list it on their site but if I remember correctly, you have to buy it at the same time! I had trouble with this because I bought my PCV in the USA. USA bikes didn't have the O2 sensor. You have to supply Dynojet with a valid UK PCV serial number for the them to supply an O2 sensor eliminator. They don't like you buying their products more cheaply from otber countries!
Just buy a third party 02 sensor eliminator, the eliminator is so you don't have the Fault light light flashing on your display. When you fit a power commander, you have to remove/disable the lambda sensor otherwise it keeps trying to adjust the stock ecu.
I know mate. Don't worry, I sored it a couple of years ago when the bike was new. Was just saying what you need to get an eliminator if you want a Dynojet one. Thanks though.
