I am in the process of fitting my hel brake lines. I have attached the calliper banjos exactly the same orientation as the originals but the left hose is shorter, Shirley the left should be longer?

    Please help

Did you buy them direct from HEL or from someone 'who said' they would fit your Bike?

Maybe you have the banjo's the wrong way round. Ie the 1's you have at the caliber end may be the 1's that should be at the master cylinder end. (don't ask why I'd say that mate, it's not as though I would ever make that mistake ;))

Ok maybe I did. Ssshhhh don't tell anyone

You can twist the banjos a bit on the hel lines, they are built to do so for small adjustments. Hold the collar with pliers, put a screwdriver in the hole, and twist it for the right angle.

On my phone so short reply

    http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/4259.htm

    See here.

Hel UK do NOT have the wrong data but OTHER suppliers do (or rather they can't read or have never fitted the kits they make up) I am sick of seeing these kits this way round and I know where they come from mostly! However they seem to think I'm thick..

However un known to them I am a Hel UK dealer! I've talked to Hel about these kits many times as I am often asked to fit them or replace them Hel UK are under no obligation to change kits made by other dealers and its up to them to put it right. The data they have should also be correct if from Hel's database. Some sellers even claim they have been making them for longer than Hel UK have had them as a dealer....strange one that but hay Ho!

So IF direct from Hel UK then they are incorrect, if from someone else then....????

The lines are simple to fit and should kick back and outwards as you would expect!

I mean as Hel UK supply back and outwards and they have been supplied as inwards they will replace them, others seem to think inwards is correct. We all know inwards is not correct or it's hard to remove the caliper mounting bolt. :)

I've always bought direct from Hel, and they have always fitted perfectly. Perhaps I'm being overly cynical, but I suspect your supplier have sent you any old sportsbike kit... a sportsbike is a sportsbike is a sportsbike, right?!?!

On the box the lines came in should be a Hel product code. If you go on their website here you can find the Hel product code for the correct lines for your bike... I think the 2 should match (I could be wrong though... got to be worth a shot)

Would hel uk sort out their distributer (race lines uk)'s mistake?

I only went with them as they offer military discount

Yeah I fitted mine exactly this way and it meant having the shorter line on the left. I think there's been a cock up with the manufacture.
