When I go through villages at 30mph the bike seems to splutter a bit and feels like it is running out of fuel when I accelerate. Is this normal on a 2010 model? has anyone else noticed this? What is the best way to get rid of it, is it to have a power commander fitted to sort the fuelling?
Funny that a similar thing happened to me on the BH Monday just gone. Been on the bike all day, come through a town and spent about 20 mins poodling along at 30 (police car 4 cars in front) and the bike started doing it. It's never happened before. Stopped at a garage, filled the tank and hasn't happend since. Does yours do it all the time?
Yes it does do it all the time. I usually use 3rd or 4th gear at that speed and it does it in both as the throttle is only just open. I thought it could be throttle body balance but I don't think that would cause the symptoms of running out of fuel when the throttle is opened more.
I wouldn't mind having a power commander but does having one fitted invalidate your insurance if you don't tell them you fitted one. Is it classed as a modification?
You should always declare mods, my insurance company were OK as long as it didn't gain over 5% increase in peak power. Also I was careful not to call it a 'power' commander, I called it a fuelling optimising module
