Just give it a good clean with parrafin or a trademark chain cleaner and check it for seized links then lube it up and you're good to go. Just keep it well lubed from now on though!

Loads of places, any DIY shop B&Q etc. Best thing for cleaning a chain.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paraffin

Paraffin as in what they sued to run lights one? you can get this at garden centers etc... and I use this

Mine needs some TLC and I was going to give it a bit of a light scrub and clean then lube again. unless it's loads of rust you should be fine. and as said as long as the links move easily

    can be bought

diesel works good as well for cleaning chains, pour some in a tray, take your back wheel off and run the chain through the tray whilst scrubbing with a good brush, dry off put back together and lube well.. [IMG]

I use paraffin from B&Q and a Kettenmax chain cleaner: Kettenreinigungsgert fr Motorrad- und Fahrradketten | Kettenmax - KETTENMAX MOTORRAD

It's a bit fiddly to use at first but cleans the chain beautifully while the wheel stays on :) There are similar products on the market, seen something similar in the Deamon Tweaks catalogue (I think).

To lubricate the chain I favour WURTH Dry Chain Lube https://www.google.co.uk/#q=wurth+d...38,d.ZG4&fp=9b9ca5141aab88ce&biw=1829&bih=890 which can be got cheaply off eBay.

Don't bother removing the wheel pal, just use a rag or an U-shaped brush and some paraffin (or other chain cleaner like WURTH CHAIN AND BRAKE CLEANER) and lots of elbow grease. I don't think removing the wheel and bathing the chain in paraffin (or any other de-greaser for that matter) is a good idea as it could potentially kill the chain by washing the lubricant out from behind the O-rings / X-rings. Less is more in this case and if there's still some surface rust left on the chain I wouldn't lose sleep over it :)

The eBay chain scrubber I linked earlier looks more like a cheap Chinese kak compared to the real Kettenmax (made in Austria). As I said before it is a bit fiddly to use but it scrubs the chain on all 4 sides and in between the plates and gives it a proper wet treatment if required and it also leaves the place clean as all the sh*te is collected in a bottle. I tend to use it every third / fourth cleaning i.e. every 1000 miles...

I do like that Kettenmax!, but they could have used a chain that was actually dirty in the video demo. I had the Muc off version and that was a pile of dog poop. Now I prefer just to use the Mrs's tooth brush and flannel.
