I'm in the market for new tyres and had an email this morning with a special offer, £139.99 for BT016 pair, I was just looking to replace my rear Dunlop Sportsmart but at £150 just for the rear the BTs look a much better deal. Has anyone had any experience of them?
I have the bt16 on the rear and 15. On the front the 15 were on from new and i have not had probs good rubber ran the bt 16s on me r1 never let me down good all rounder
not sure if they are different but have the bt16 pros, very good on both road and track. These are mine after a session at Snetterton. I'm not the fastest in the world but these had very good feedback, knew what the tyres were doing at all times and were very forgiving to my cack handed braking and hammer fist acceleration. My only gripe is that they are pretty much gone is less than 4000 miles.
I had the same offer in my email, If I hadnt just shelled out for some BT023s for longer life and wet grip. I would of snapped these up, they are a real bargain and a great tyre imo
The pros and the standard are different spec Had the pros fitted in Germany as a last resort, but thought they were a brilliant all round tyre. Nothing exceptional but decent for fast road / touring. Decent wear rate (I don't pay much attention to miles tbh) and good in wet and dry. But not sure about the 016's....
Ive been through loads of BT016 rears and would choose them in a heart beat. I dont think they are like the super sticky, super expensive tyres, but they offer good grip from cold and warm up well, they just dont do so well when pushed hard on track as they can overheat and peel away, but thats what makes them such a good road tyre, or as someone wrote "a good all rounder".
I had these fitted to my 09 GSXR750 as standard,I found them to be a good tyre on the road and did 2 trackdays before I replaced them with Dunlops, overall a descent tyre imho
Well at that price and following all the comments I've bought a set, should be delivered next week. I'm no Rossi and whilst I'm doing a performance plus track day in May I'm not a regular, just looking for a decent wet and dry tyre for touring and the odd twisty so these should be fine, thanks for the advice guys
bought the same pair at the bike show in dec for the same money. couldnt walk away from them at that price. still in spare room at mo as going on my tuono and not quite worn the old uns out yet!
Dealer fitted a set of 16 Pros when I bought my bike last year, nice and grippy, but as soon as the temp dropped they would spin up on a roll on in the wet, and as a commuter they were too short lived, less than 2k on the rear.
I hated them and changed them as soon as they wore out for some bt023's which i reate much much higher over the 16's personally.
