Anyone ever used them on a blade? Considering getting some for this years touring, quite cheap really.. OXFORD 1ST FIRST TIME MOTORCYCLE LUGGAGE TOURING SADDLE PANNIERS BAGS 48 LITRES | eBay
Never tried panniers always use Kriega tail packs. 7 of us went to Ireland last year , 1 had panniers on and he obviously hadn't put them on right and they came off. Fortunately no damage done but could have been a lot worse. I think there is a real possibility of scratching to the tail with them if your not really careful when mounting them.
I already have a Kriega tailpack, but I'm going on a 10 day trip round europe so need more capacity.. was gonna use this with the panniers: Multi-Purpose Non Slip Mat : Automotive Tools : Maplin Electronics
Our local poundland sells the antislip mat, guess how much. I use it under my tank bag when touring it works well, no marks or scratches.
I done a 10 day trip first year took too much this year this is all I needed . I also brought a used scuffed tailpiece no need worrying about protection and that
Yep, ive got the older version of the 1st Time panniers and the tail pack. See http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/oxford-fi...01?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item4ac364ccfd
Muffking, are the panniers easy to fit? I've just bought the Oxford X50's and they don't seem to be very secure!
I find that the rearwards strap for the panniers that goes under the seat needs to be located under the seat bracket ortherwise the seat won't lock in, but the straps generally hold the bags onto the bike ok. The main problem is straping the bottom of the bags together under the tail to stop them flappng about as the rear one catches the under seat exhaust. I melted one strap on the exhaust, but the font one keeps them from flapping about. Are you on the Scotland trip as I'm sure we'll all be exchanging tips.
Cant make the Scotland trip but will hopefully catch later in the year. Thanks for your help, I'll keep trying until I feel happy with the fitting.
