Apologies if this post is in the wrong place
I love the Kriega kit and its versatility, but how easy, secure & scratch free is the fitting? Non-slip webbing to be purchased.
I only live 15 minutes from Renntec but their luggage mount doesn't look as good as the Ventura rack.
With 2 x 08> blades in the family (collect the missus 10 plate tomorrow) 2 x Ventura racks & Kriega luggage is big dollars.
Are 2 x Ventura racks necessary if investing in 80+ Lts of Kriega?
Has anyone experience of the Kriega tank pad mount? I like the idea of shifting some weight to the tank but I'll be in the shit if I spend loads of money on a luggage system and its not ideal, scratches the bike and obviously have her safety / comfort in mind.
    Appreciated- thanks

Givi Tanklock is the one to go for Tank wise.

GIVI T480 TANKLOCK - Soft Luggages

Not one person has posted anything but praise for Ventura gear (price accepted).

Dave RR on the luggage thread has bought Kreiga used it once and now has the Ventura system with the Kreiga up for sale/sold.

    Says it all I spose?

    Thanks sinewave
Seems more pennies to be saved
Savings will be only purchasing luggage system once...... well, twice!!

FWIW, I don't think you'd actually need 2 x Ventura systems. When me and the doris go touring we get everything for a 2-week trip into a single 51 litre Aero Spada VII bag, albeit with a bit of prudent packing! You can get pretty good and choosing what to take and then packing it in.

I would imagine that if you have a Ventura system on one bike and complement it with a Kriega drybag or two on the other bike then you should be ok without having to shell out on two complete Ventura systems. You can also add a Kriega R25/30/35 if you really need to, although you'd probably be approaching Ventura prices at that point.

I use the Kriega Tank with either a us20 or us30. The us30 is only possible for tall lads used as a tank bag. The yoke hasn't scratched my tank. It has a non-scratch base and I put a load of wax on the tank before a run too. Having problems uploading photos but I've got a few pics of the Kriega gear in use in my new boy thread.

I'm a full on Krieganaut! I love the stuff.

I tried to avoid trying Kriega at the bike shows because it was so expensive, but after trying the rest i had a go and was easily convinced by it's attention to detail and quality of build. I think these guys are class leaders.

Exactly. And Ventura stuff is made upside down. Out of kangaroos.

I have not seen 50 litres of kreiga remain stable at 170mph when attached to a sports bike.

I like the way you can load folded clothes into Ventura and fact it's rock solid.

Also you can get shed loads of wine and beer in Ventura bag to keep your digs stocked up with cheap booze

I've had 40L of Kriega action on the back at an indicated 165 and didn't give it a minute's thought. 70L is the biggest they recommend as a tailpack. With the us30 type fitting kit the whole lot is looped round the rear subframe, not the seat like the older kit. It doesn't budge an inch and refuses to leak. One reason it doesn't leak is because it tucks away tight. Very streamlined luggage.

Topped out the r1 (in germany of course) with 50ltr on the back and a givi tank lock bag and didn't move an inch!

Ventura is great, but can't beat kreiga stuff for quality and versatility.

Used my Kriega for TT 2011 and 1000 mile tour of Ireland last year and never a problem with it. I saw an indicated 172 on the Ireland trip and the 20 & 10 were fine. They were never in the same place as I put them on in the morning but never in any danger of coming off. As for scratches , never noticed any on my black 09 but will be using non slip stuff on my 12 HRC.

that send / rear bag looks bloody huge - not sure I'd want all that weight hanging over the back so far.

I have the main bag like you do, but the slim expandable one attached not the huge square one - I'd have a good thing / check if you REALLY need all that space?

Those pics are with the rear bag expanded as mates BMW tourer with luggage could not fit all his and his Mrs's kit in - so I had to carry books, hairdryer and a load of other stuff in it.

I tend to use the rear bag for waterproofs and bike supplies / spares / equipment etc. that you want totally seperate from main luggage.

Agree with Alblade, keep weight as central as possible. I also use Spada on Pillion Seat, Delta about rack.

We need to square this NOW! Krieganauts on one side, weird, childish pigsbumface Ventura users on the other and have a proper ruck. Danny Dyer can commentate about 'some pwopa norty geezers havin a pwopa off'.

Krieganauts of the world unite, by the Power of Greyskull!

Ken, I've just shown your and my comments to my 13 yr old and he doubled up laughing and said 'You're all complete and utter morons!'

    Nice.

But, I agree. I was feeling unusually mature when I posted.

    Is it codeine o'clock yet?

Well there you go then. The innocence of callow youth hath spied the very trait that doth unite us all despite allied to war or wind blown quest.

Sorry about that. I'm watching Henry V and got carried away.
