just a thought folk, but if I checked this thread at work for some detail on day of trip etc. if something urgent comes up those images could get me dismissed for miss use of internet / breaching company electronic communications policy etc.
What about the guy hanging by his balls Alan?.........surely you could convince them it was an alternative form of therapy!
And back to normallity, I have a serious question (yes I do)! I have 2 spare rear tyres and need to choose which one for the trip. 1. A BT016 with reasonable tread all round 2. an ex track day Continental ContiRace Attack medium compound tyre with more tread in the centre. Which one should I use based on our riding style as I don't know if we will be plodding along the Scottish countryside, therefore wasting the Conti on touring, or if we will be ripping up the tarmac, therefore losing grip on the Bridgestone?
ithink your bt016 will be more than capable even with the grip you will need if not thats me off on the first bend
I do have a matching front in the garage, but the bike already has a sticky front with a reasonable amount of tread still on.
Bottom line? I'd fit the ones that you feel suits your riding style mate, its going to be varied over the weekend, and only you will know how you wish to attack the roads we travel on,
Don't know about that, but they had better rebuild the Moffat to Selkirk road pronto, as that's 1 great little road, via the Grey Mares Tail, and the 3 lochs. Alblade informed me today some of the road got washed away
Thats gonna need more than gaffer tape and cable ties to sort out mind - Ridden that road and its lovely - will have to have a 're-opening party - the diversion is pretty huge I think A708 - Moffat to Selkirk (St Mary's Loch) | Motorcycle Scotland
Damn it, that's going to take a while to open back up. Though to be honest that area ain't exactly the worste to get detoured in. Love it down that way.
Been on that section of road twice. The pic makes it look worse than it actually is. So long as we don't overtake we should be able to pass on the bit to the right of the photo
Ok, next gadget, comms and/or navgation. I have a couple of 2 way radio kits, but no satnav other than my iPhone and am consious of the fact that most people wont know where the are going. So what do you reckon to using the iphone as a satnav and buying a bluetooth headset such as this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x500M-Mo...881?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e77bc5031 Or there's a basic wired helmet speaker. I could keep my iphone in my jacket pocket with this, but the Bluetooth version would allow me to keep my phone on charge in the tailpack. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-Helmet-Speakers-Setero-for-iPhone-3G-4-3GS-/330542089261?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item4cf5d8042d
Guy,s i,ve been reading a lot about the rozzers confiscating riders bike cameras even when they have no evidence you have been riding dangerousley. They then go away and try and find some evidence to prosecute, usually its the guy in front who gets charged as his number is visible. Could i ask if you intend to use a camera each day to please let the rest of the group know, so individuals who prefer not to be filmed can position themselves accordingly. ta very much
