Got to love the European speed awareness bit, Germany are European yet they have some motorways with no speed limits.

    Yes do make you think.

I have an idea ! How about a European'' Pothole Awareness Campaign '' Local forces in England would join the road-safe teams and report all dangerous potholes and make sure these are recorded and then repaired to a satisfactory standard ensuring that all road users can go about their business in a safe manner ! Come to think of it its not as important as speeding  and not as much fun and of course there is no money in it .(How silly of me to be discussing road safety).

Or how about a European Erratic Cyclist Awareness Campaign, with unmarked police cars mingling with commuter traffic, monitoring the 'few' bad apples amongst the cadence cycling community who lurch randomly from whichever lane they're in to whichever lane they feel they can maintain their 'goal' pace with no indication or even a cursory glance over their shoulder. Perhaps they can introduce roadside red/green colour blindness tests for the ones that have troubles stopping at traffic lights (poor lambs).

In the end it'd would be for their own good as it can't be much longer now before I have to brutally beat one of them to death when they lean on my car rather than put one of their feet down in disgust when they have to stop.

But of course, they won't, because the fug of pretention that oozes out of them as they wazz through built up areas at 35 mph is repairing the hole in the ozone layer, or something...

Europe lends a load of money to Cyprus and then we have a European "speed awareness campaign."

    Coincidence?

    :p

you dont need a european pothole awareness campaign ,just a british one, as we have paid through OUR taxes to fix all the roads in spain etc and let ours become a totally unacceptable mess.
I am in yorkshire which has recently won the worst state roads in britain award , and believe me they are a f******g disgrace.

OK this is from the cycling world but it does work as Councils can't use the "it was ok when we did our annual check" excuse. Fill That Hole | FillThatHole.org.uk

Ling got a letter from the local retired busy bodies this morning calling themselves 'Community Speedwatch' a very official looking letter that starts of saying her car was breaking the speed limit on such and such lane at 17:49 on the 15th April 2013. It then goes on to say the speed was unacceptable and would result in a prosecution if a police officer had been present. It then bangs on about stopping distances and the fact that the information gathered will be used to inform enforcement campaigns and deployment of safety camera technology.

You naughty naughty girl I said, come on then how fast ?

    34mph in a 30mph

What the fcuk is all that about.......
