Hi all, new member. Just sold 10MY bike and picking up 13MY on Thursday. Was thinking of some Ventura luggage but don't want to spoil look of bike with the frame that stays on bike when not in use. Has anybody got some pics showing what it looks like when not in use please. Thanks

Thanks for the warm welcome Lambeth! Looked through touring section and yes the debate regarding which is best has been covered to death. However, I'm asking for a photo of the system fitted to the bike WITHOUT luggage attached so I can see what the frame will look like when not in use. All photos that I can find show luggage fitted.

The rack side bars all just bolt on, bolt off so there's no need to run around all year long with them on if you don't fancy it.

If you do leave them on then just fit the small grab rail handle in place of the 'Big Hoop', tiz a two second job to change the top bits.

The Ventura frame looks proper fugly without the luggage to hide it and that includes the small Sports Rack and the grab rail. That saying I'm waiting for a delivery of the Sports Rack + Sports Pack which - in my mind - I will run on the bike at all times for things like waterproofs, two pairs of glasses, a tyre repair kit, a first aid kit, a tool kit, a map, a phone charger, a visor cleaner, a spare visor and a few other bits and bobs I used to have on my previous bike in a tank bag. I'm still not 100% convinced that I can live with the ugliness but until I see it in flesh I cannot make my mind!

Come the revolution, Martyn, you're going to want to be a Krieganaut. We've got British (designed) luggage and therefore God on our side.

As mentioned by SineWave, its easy enough to remove the L brackets (4 allen bolts).

Here's mine with the brackets fitted. They only take 5 minutes to fit or take off on the 08-12 Blades.

Sinewave - Had a small tail pack attached to seat - it was just easier to carry both together for a walk on Snowdon than take apart!

Sat nav is a £50 unit from ebay with whole of UK & Ireland on it - still works and been drenched a fair few times!

You won't regret it. Ventura is the best thing I ever did to help with touring on a sports bike.
