Well.... its happened! we have been out for a ride this morning we started by practicing getting on and off (could be embarrassing if we stop for a cuppa with an audience and the de-mount goes tits-up!) I felt like I was doing my test again! I don't think I've ever been as gentle with the throttle and brakes as i was this morning. A very gentle bimble down a couple of back roads before we got to the A16 bypass, then off the bypass to a few twisties - I must say the current wife was very well behaved! I am now searching for a grippy pillion seat cover as the constant sliding forward and back wasn't ever so confidence boosting but we had a good time. A couple of points to note are: With the datatool in the seat tray the alarm sensor is stuck to the seat cowl and therefore the alarm cannot be set as I don't have one on the pillion seat and also because of the Datatool the toolkit doesn't fit in there either... brilliant! The current wife enjoyed it so much she has told me there's steak for supper tonight and then a ..... another old thread!!!
My missus lasted 30 seconds too, sat on the driveway she jumps on the back with knees inside her helmet and says "This isn't for me" result
My wife loves going on the blade , never been aprob until yesterday when half way around a corner she moved her body position and that moved the bike ( hmmmm ) When we stopped just had a quiet word and let's say she's not done it again , But to be fair she's only 4ft 10' and size 8 , when I met the lads for the first time with her on pillion they thought I had a ruck sack on my back , Grippy pillion seat cover , I could do with one also , any ideas where to get one from ? Thank you ,
Get the Guy on ebay to recover the existing seat, about 4 day turnaround. These are some of the pics he sent me when I was deciding on what to have done to by Blade seat.
I searched ebay for a grippy seat cover honda. A tribo turned up for 12.99 plus postage, gotta be worth a go.
The Guy's called Jimmy James Hope, an ex vehicle interior trimmer I think. [email protected] He did my Blade riders seat for £45 but would've done the Pillion as well for £70 & P&P The stippled covering used on mine is far grippier than the standard slippy material.
tribo, i used on on the zx6r for my daughter and it made a massive diff, however.... she is very good on the back until someone cut us up.... she goes nuttt road rage isnt the word

No he completely re-foams it if you require, depends what you want. I had mine stripped back to the shell and had an extra 1" thickness of comfort foam installed before covering in the above stippled covering. I wanted a comfier seat for Touring purposes and to lessen the angle a tadge of my feet on the pegs by making my seat 1" taller. Fit is spot on, makes no difference in that regard. I actually bought a used seat off Fleabay and sent that direct to him as when I sell I'll put the original new one back on (see above pic) and sell the 'Comfort one' on Fleabay for a profit!
