And that's up to now! Wish I was talking about some new wheels or some goodies but no I am talking about taking the dog Sam to the vets not once but twice .First time 7 days ago he goes in for a fatty lump to be removed from his front inner leg all ok six stitches and that's 500 sheets please ok that's life happy days .....until Sunday when he was jumping up and down at the back door and somehow ended up limping on the back leg or hopping about ,so as he had to go for his stitches out on the front leg the vet was seeing him anyway so after an examination the vet said he needs another operation to repair a ligament and that was today and 800 sheets later he's coming around with about 12 stitches to the new area and what I did clock on the latest bill was £130.00 in Vat ..Now I think that's really sly .

Had the same with my old GSD!

Let him out one night to chase away the Fox that was mythering the Ducks and he ripped sumat or other in his hind leg jumping up 3 steps in one go.

£1K later and a few Titanium pins in his back end he was back home.

2 weeks later he started refusing food, drinking for england and pissing the floor.

Back to the Vets and after £350 worth of tests I was told he had Liver Cancer and there was nowt they could do.

Cheapest bit was the big syringe full of Blue Shit that put him out of his misery at £50!

Poor old Sam, hope he perks up soon, Mike.

Come the end with one of my old boys, Elwood, the last vet bill came to about 1500 notes. Don't get me wrong, if it had managed to save him I'd have paid double, but it made us insure Bert from day one. He's had so many stitches now that without his fur he'd look like a fist, but all these little jobs come in just below the excess so it ain't worth the claim. Now his premium is more than the Blade costs me a year. True.

You do exactly what you have done, Mike. He's your mate and you've done right by him. Vets have got you by the bollocks, but its the kind of grip that you just shrug and swallow.

would bother, i had it on both my dogs aint worth the paper its . really is pointless,

one got injury in 1400 quid..... then 4 weeks later i had him put down!!!! clot on the brain.

other one used have load little cuts and nicks.... in end i sort em out.... buy everything from Ireland, surprise surprise much cheaper. unfortunately he got a brain tuber and had to be put down as he turned aggressive... and yes i did have to have stiches cause of him.

big mean nasty dogs..... no springer spaniels.

currently no dog as i don't have the amount of time it training them correctly

It seems that a diet of fresh chicken pieces nicely fried with a small potion of basmati rice is most acceptable this followed by a small amount of Neapolitan ice cream with the liquid painkiller mixed in is just about aiding recovery.;)

Nowt wrong with rice for your dog Steve, when my GSD was ill the vet prescribed boiled rice with coconut oil on it. Apparently they take 100% goodness from it.

Yeah and when I had my tonsils out they said I could eat all the ice cream I wanted, so it must be good for you.

    Dogs eh...

We have two SBT's; one is from a BYB (we had no idea at the time, she was just cute) & has grown to be 6 now & is always is good health (touch wood). The other is from the an award winning kennel with champion blood lines; he is always at the vets! He has had both ACL repaired over the last 2-years which has cost us over £6000! Luckliy we have had £4k back from the insurance but they can be an expensive companion.

Got to love our dogs though. I hope yours makes a fast recovery. :)

No sorry rice for a dog ?
Fried chicken for a dog ?
    There dogs come on .....
Most dogs I've ever had 16 and problems with everyone, ( we rescue dogs )
I bet the dogs that get the fancy food are pedigree dogs ?
That's why there ill cause the rubbish you feed them ,
You carry on feeding them that rubbish and you'll take 2 years off there lives .
People think oh a treat won't hurt , well it does and I've had the pleasure of
Putting rescue dogs on diets for months cause the owners feed them crap,
Dogs that have heart probs , bad skin, teeth , gums ,
You think your doing the right thing , I'm sorry but your not .....
Another reason pedigree dogs get ill is because there breed to close
Just to get that perfect look , size , shape , colour , and has soon the
bitch ( mum) reaches 4/5 they give them away or hand them over to the RSPCA
because they can't breed with them anymore because kennel club won't
register the pups , so there worth nothing , sad but I've seen it loads of times . :(
