Hi, i've had a question about the 2012 wheels I have asking if they are ABS or Non-ABS whels. I wasnt aware there was a difference but hey i'm still learning. Can anyone in the know shed any light on this? Are the physical rims the same between abs/non abs and its just a case of fixing the right speed sensors etc or are the rims actually different?

    cheers

The ABS has a small perforated disc on it which is what the sensor bolted to the forks references to.

Not sure if the non ABS wheel has holes for the extra kit to bolt to however I doubt the actual wheel spindle or overall size differs at all so you could use an ABS wheel on a Non-ABS bike but not sure about tother way round.

Ring a Honda Dealer and ask?

    Edit......

Had a closer look at my Bike tonight and it transpires that the ABS perforated discs on the wheels actually bolt on to the brake discs so in actual fact there is no difference in the actual wheels at all.

I doubt Honda even make 'Non-ABS' brake discs they just be the same for either bike and will juts have the extra tapped holes for the ABS Disc if you need them.

Thanks sinewave. Do the abs rings bolt to the discs on the same bolt mountings that hold the discs to the wheels or are there additional bolt holes on the discs?

    Cheers

Ok thanks, I will have a look at my bike tomorrow.

When I enquired about about buying an ABS sensor disc for my spare non ABS rear wheel from a seller on Ebay this is the response I got "if the wheel is from an abs model bike yes it should fit. the rear discs are the same on both abs and non abs bikes, it is the wheel that is different."

The ABS ring bolts to the Brake Disc at different points to where the Brake Disc bolts to the wheel.

Sorry can't add any value to the actual thread. Read the title wrong and got excited as thought it said "wife swap"
