OK, Since i'm on a spending spree, she who must be obeyed has told me i'm buying a grab rail (yes dear) and that it will keep her safe (yes dear) because she says her safety is paramount (yes dear)...

Now I really don't want one because they do look a bit pony, so .. before I order one does anyone know how easy they are to put on / take off... If it's a 5 minute job, then fine, I'll only put the damn thing on when I need to, if it's gonna take half a day and all the fairings have to come off then she can go whistle !! (don't tell her that ffs!) ... actually, it's her birthday soon, could kill two birds an all that... ;)

Sound like you should be just killing one bird

It should have been a 5 minute job on my 954 but I had to move the alarm unit to get one of the luggage strap bolts out and without wanting to disconnect it, it turned into a faff, but it will be model dependant.

I got one, takes about 30 mins first time, grab rail slides on from rear, just be careful, then there are 4 bolts to rear subframe which sit in offset jointed bolts that bolt to the grab rail, take care to get the bolts square and easy
I am leaving mine on for extra bungee point for the 50 litres of Kriega goin on for a europe trip in June, in black on a black bike it doesn't stand out as much

    You know what?

A Rentec Grab Rail may be the cheap solution to my loose Kreiga mounting problems! :D

    No mate, not at all.

Tis just if you mount underseat as per the standard setup the luggage rocks about a bit.

Not enough to go anywhere but it does move.

Me being anal and all that, I like things to be rock solid so strapping to a metal grabrail which doesn't move a millimeter will satisfy my OCD

Brucie Bonus is the Rentec Touring Grab Rail also has a rack at the back so additional luggage can be strapped on!

    Ooohhh, I'm all excited! :p

I used the Kriega stuff last year and the new mounting straps are very good, fit to the holes in sub-frame under the seat, but as previously mentioned there is a very small amount of movement as in its fastened at the bottom but you can wiggle the top, but it really isn't going to come off.
I used 2 Rok straps last year and that made if solid, as I felt the same as Sinewave.
The Kriega bags have plenty of loops to pass the straps through and they are way better than ordinairy bungess. Got them cheap off fleabay bought as a pair
The Renntec rail just make that strapping easier.
It's main reason for being is as a pillion grab as gently demanded by girlfriend.

Costs £20-30 more and is more specific to the Ventura luggage, plus it don't look as good.

    No contest!

I shall have one on order at 09:01 Tomorrow! :D
