Hoping someone can help me out with a problem I m experiencing downloading a map for my Blade. The map database has Map M16-002-502 which is the right combination for my exhuast and air filter on an 08 CBR1000RR. Problem is I have a PCIIIUSB power commander which uses file format .djm and the map is only downloadable in .pvm format which is for the later model Power Commander V which ironcially was never offically sold for the 08 Blade although it does actually work fine. The software is not backwards compatibale unfortunately. The latest Power Commander V sofware will read the old .djm format files used in the PCIIIUSB but not vice versa which is the way I need to go. I realise you can populate the map matrix manually but this is hours and hours of work. So does anyone know how to convert a .pvm format map to .djm format map ?
only way to do it is copy and paste.its to do with the throttle increments being different between the two.

Really really weird this. Just download a map from the above link with the following description "2008 Honda CBR1000RR European model, Leo vince slip-on exhaust, Stock or aftermarket air filter, Dynojet o2 eliminator fitted" which is number M132-508 And when I compare it with the PCV map M16-002-502 which has the same description as above its massively different.
There is an inherent problem with converting pc5 maps to pc3 units and that's that the pc3 has a column missing (15% throttle)! The maps can be copied by using a computers copy and paste commands but the missing column would mean the fuel setting for 15% throttle twist will be off slightly as it will either use the settings from the 10% throttle or 20%. Hope this clears things up a little.
Yeah I realise that but if you open the maps although they have the same description they are massively different for the same tp and rpm. They can easily be -30 on one map and zero in the other for the same cell in the table which is a huge difference. Going to ring dynojet UK this afternoon and find.out why.
the later map is for an 09 model.not sure if this makes any difference to the values.I noticed the big difference too when I compared them.
I spotted the same Phantom but there should be no difference between an 08 and 09 as there identical bikes. I have spoke to Dynojet UK and they have sent me M132-508 as the correct map. The chap suggested that M16-002-502 was a conversion from the original dyno developed map M132-508 and he was equally surprised to see the big difference which does'nt sound good for their quality control. He suggested that the M16-002-502 map maybe wrong as possibly the conversion has been corrupted, he could'nt confirm as the conversion was done in the states and not by dynojet UK. I have asked him in a email to confirm the above and await a response. Will post here when I know more.
Surely if that was the case it would list specific cans in the title of each map. As what's the point of numerous specific maps all listed under one generic title, that would be a lottery getting the right one. Plus the dynojet guy even suggested the problem was a corrupt conversion and was as surprised as me at the differences. If there was a reason for 2 different maps for Leo vince slip on I m sure he would have know and been able to explain, the fact he was totally unaware of any error was very worrying imo. If I get an answer to this I will post up ASAP.
I think I'm using M16-002-502 and it feels great. Interested to find out the result of this BladeRR8!
Yeah me too JM1 but not had any emails from dynojet today. Might be being paranoid but starting to think they will not admit to the mistake as it could open the flood gates for complaints if people have been using the wrong map because of a mistake on there part and failure for any quality control to pick up on it.
See there would be too many to make can specific maps Hence why you get custom maps but I checked other Maps and there is also big jumps too. But riddle me this batman, did your pcIII use two injector Plugs like the pcv or four?
Four injector plugs connected up on my PCIII but unless I m being stupid (more than likely) I don't see how that effect things. To give an example the PCV map at 9000 rpm and 100% throttle has an adjustment of -27 the exact same rpm and throttle position on the identically named map for the PCIII only has an adjustment of -2. Both maps are for cylinders 1,2,3,4 and gears 1,2,3,4,5,6. If I m understanding things wrong please explain as this is baffling me. Not saying I'm right that's why I have asked dynojet but it did shock me when the dynojet guy was equally shocked and surprised that the PCIII and PCV maps with the same description differed so much.
Well im thinking it could be that because it uses two and a tps plug on the Pcv the maps might have to be setup differently and thats why dynojet Made the maps so they cant be swapped between the two units?
I see what your saying but as each map is only adjusting fuel by a + value or - negative value and it effects all injectors, all cylinders and all gears don't see how there can be any difference.
