Nice! I'm very tempted to treat myself to the Shark Race R Pro carbon. Really fancy a shark helmet, my Arai Chaser has become increasingly noisy, especially since in fit a higher screen to the Blade.

Yes very nice. As my present helmet is reaching it's 'use-before' date I'm considering one of these.

Caberg Modus CPL - Metal White Flip Up Motorcycle Motorbike Helmet | eBay

Helmets do tend to 'settle' over time and this cheek pump idea sounds interesting. Just as long as it's durable and not a gimmick. The flip front might also negate the need to remove your helmet when re-fueling on forcourts that display a sign requesting:- "Full-face Helmets Must be Removed." The claim that even though it's a flip-front it still retains the integrity of a 'solid' full-face is also a 'plus' factor. Has anyone tried one of these?

There's no way I'll ever wear a flip front helmet, regardless of what they claim.

And I don't remove my helmet at petrol stations, even when asked ;) :)

Personally I won't get a flip front lid until they are tested as full face. Someone I know was in hospital after an argument with a small truck and in the bed opposite was another rider who had lost all his front teeth when he crashed in his flip front lid.

That doesn't tend to happen Nicko!

They'll authorise the pump no problem as you could then remove your helmet before going inside or at the till.

It's at this point you state that you've broken two fingers and can't remove your lid cause your Mrs did it up before you left and will take it off when you return.

Then you suggest if it's a problem that they come round this side of the screen and remove it for you?

At this point they say, "Yeah, never mind mate, just key in ya PIN ta"

Blimey mate. Isn't it easier just to take yor lid off? After all it's only a minor inconvenience.

Anyway, I only wanted to know in anyone had experience of that particular Caberg helmet.

I always use pay at the pump... (Exception is the BP's on the A4 by Fullers Brewery. They don't care if you wear a helmet).

Most places I go to don't ask me to remove my helmet. If they do ask I remove it. There are worse crimes being committed in this world. It's a decision made by the management so gobbing off at someone on the tills seems a waste of breath.

A friend has a Caberg flip front that he likes and finds convenient, Nicko. Actually two friends. And I have another mate who likes his Schuberth flip front.

I disagree with it being a minor inconvenience, I ride all year round so for a good portion of the year I've a balaclava and a neck tube underneath my lid and no doubt they'd want that removed too - thus messing with that all important seal between your neck tube and jacket which takes a good few minutes to set up before riding!

I have to disagree with this also, as I'm often asked to remove mine before filling and the fact that I tend to use the same filling stations has lead to the discovery that it's only the more 'jobsworth' staff members that push for this, so I doubt a management incentive. Nearly always (and I'm not being racist when I say this) by Indian petrol station attendants as culturally there is far more of an onus on accountability. I think it's just the ones who are more afraid of losing their job who tend to enforce this rule.

It's far worse in/around London but a bit tricky not to take personally since they are specifically targeting bikers. If I have time I tend to go somewhere else, but when pushed for it I'll give them my card which tends to placate them.

No way I'm taking my lid off for a jobsworth petrol station attendant though.

You may well be asked, shipmate. As you can see I am a Londoner and I also ride year round.

I rarely get asked. I'm sticking to that.
