Ok so my story in short, I found a cbr I want found it cheap on eBay I was meant to pick it up the bank holiday weekend but the guy had a death in his family and is now on holiday. My earliest collection date is the 14th so I'm counting down the days. However being on this forum I keep coming across new problems the cbr carries, burning oil and now the abs fault. I know a small percentage of the blades carry the faults but its enough to get the brain ticking before handing over my hard earned for a problematic bike. So my question, the guy who owns the bike smashed his hand to bits and can't ride again hence the sale. However he can't remember if it is abs or not and seen as he is on holidays can't check. So is there a way of me finding out? The pics aren't clear enough for me to see the motion thing on the front wheel so is there a check I can run on the model? With number plate? Cheers guys.
I would of thought if you could get the reg plate number and run a hpi check it would come back with year and model, if it has abs it should say RR-A rather than just RR
The hpi didn't come back stating either RR or RR-A. I do have a side pic ill get it up on here in a second I couldn't tell from them as its not overly clear. It's my first blade so you guys will know better than me. Who is this Mr B we speak of?
It's an easy spot! Sounds like a tragic story about the current owner but it does seem strange he doesn't know if his own bike is ABS or not. I'd say most Blade owners know where every blemish on their bike is let alone whether it has ABS or not. Deffo do as many checks you can before you part with your hard earned.
Yeah my thoughts exactly I only found out today about him not knowing about the abs so ill do more checks.
He has either bought cheap scrubbed tyres 2nd hand or that bike has been seriously ragged on the track so thats also worth checking
Don't worry the colour will be changing in the winter. However not to the obviously faster repsol colours
