Swing arm , Paint or powdercoat

    Changing rear wheel would crack powdercoat! The chain could chip it. the chain adjustment would crack it. The shock would not fit in as powder is very thick. It a bad idea to powder swing arm

    Do you think rear sets would last ok with powder coat hump?

    With u Martin anything will last a lifetime as you don't ride much as your always fuckin about with broken bones lol

    Martin get ya self on YouTube type in Anodising ally mate, do it ya self only cheap & with you bad arm you can sort the boys out on the forum Martins anodised aluminium finish :thumbup:

    Si has his rearsets powdercoated mate. He also has Rizoma pegs on these to make them look really nice.
    The swingarm on the blade is painted.

    I'd say either buy a second hand swingarm that is already black, or paint the 1 you have and add venture shield at the places that could get scraped. Ie where boots could scuff and also where the paddock stand bobbins are.

    I'd vote paint. Powder coat is a tougher finish but I've had stuff corrode on the inside of the coating (including alu - lovely white dust.....) without anything showing on the front. Paint you can keep an eye on and its easy enough to touch up.
