Just like to say I've done 4 track days always in novice.....never felt under pressure and enjoyed every last second...think the "headless chicken" comment is tad ott...sure you get the odd dodgy line but blatting along at warp factor whatever you should be thinking about inters anyway...honestly track riding is just the best and this from a very slow and decrepit person......you go your own pace and learn so much about yourself and the bikes capabilities.

This is on my one and only road bike and my pride and joy by the way

Rolling into the first fast right at Snetterton at 100+mph and meeting a novice rider doing 40-50mph mid corner is very very scary trust me! Always best to be in the group that best matches your ability regardless of experience. Some track day organisers like focused events fit transponders to your bike so no matter what group you book into after the first session they switch you to groups of 4 that have similar pace which means you could go from novice to inters or even fast to inters depending on the talent on the day

i think that is probably something to consider cos its far enough away for people to have a proper think about taking their bike on track and possibly get a practice day in at some point beforehand, also we can get numbers of people interested and book a load of B&Bs too??

Sounds like you're throwing down a gauntlet, I've never been one to shy away from a challenge. "King dicky" will see you at Cadwell on the 11th!

To be honest I'd be shittin myself to take the blade on track. I've spent way too much on it and would be honestly gutted if I binned it.

I'd be more comfortable riding the SP1 in the novice/inter group and just enjoying the day than being scared stiff if I binned the blade.
