Got these tyre warmers with my trackbike and having some problems...

The front one started smoking after being on for no more than 5 mins, looks like one of the elements has burnt through.. is this normal???

That usually is when they are left on and that lap onto each other my old diamond ones used to do this . I have moto gp ones now about £130 quid elastic makes them so easy to put on ImageUploadedByTapatalk1368954416.986933.jpg

No limits have got their own brand going now YT, not sure how the order status is, but they did say anyone ordering will have them brought to a track day of their choice.

Some good feedback from users too by all accounts.

Did you have them powered on and not wrapped around a tyre?

I have got some Diamond Racing ones and they are superb, not cheap, but they are worth it. Plus they get up to 95 degrees rather than 80-85 for most others.

Do you feel any more confidence on track having had them on or do you guys all just use them for longevity of the tyre?? i.e. less heat cycles

they are there really to stop you having to do 3 laps to get tyres warm .
if you are in a 20 minute session on track you can waste a third of it warming your tyres up.

Thought it was that but I've read on other forums/sites that your tyres warm up fairly sharpish anyway

No tyre warmers are there to save the tyre heating times. You can pretty much give it the berries from the off. Heating up a tyre by riding can take 2-3 laps, which eats into track time.
