Thanks. Its your thread though, so i think you should make the decision as there's not long now.

I do agree with others who said sunday would be less traffic than monday though.

Edit. Having just written that, the weather report says chance of rain on sat & sun, but cloudy on mon. Sigh!!

Can i be bold and suggest sunday starting at Newark, maybe 10:30am (possibly at McDonalds). Its south of me but there are some good roads heading north through Collingham and it makes for a more central starting point for those further south.

Dont let me take over, but i think if we firm up in advance then everyone knows whats going on.

I can sort a route 2mo if you want.

My only issue is I'm in Horncastle , so bout 30/40 mins south .to then go north!
Don't mind a ride to Newark or maybe could meet up with you at a mid point further north??

One thing to bare in mind is that for some stupid reason they are putting down shit loads of gravel and tar on the a46 at the moment, would be good to avoid these at all costs to avoid horrific stone chips :-D

Yep I agree, I've been avoiding the A46 in my car too for that very reason.

Blade: I could suggest a second meeting point at Newton on Trent where it crosses the A57 (point C). It would save you heading south, but I would recommend heading through Burton Villiage onto the A57 instead of going down the A46 where the speed camera is as that's where the resurfacing starts.

Here's a map & of an idea of route, it also includes a stop at the southern Humber bridge view point in Barton on Humber for photos (point F).

Looking at the map again I'll probably head from Lincoln to meeting point C too.

If those meeting at Newark aim to leave at 10:30am then you will be at Newton on Trent for around 10:50am and we'll be in Scarborough for about 1:30pm, just in time for a few laps and chips by the sea front after the lunch time rush has calmed down :D

I used to live in Newton on Trent and there isn't really anyway to meet/park up safely by the main road. If you met a bit farther up the road in Laugherton there is a pub car park on the right hand side just after the post office as you head towards Gainsborough. Alternatively there is a McDonald's in Gainsborough just before point D (after the Tesco's junction) and then Blade could come via Market Rasen and the A631.

Oh yeah, be careful as you go into Marton as there is a mobile camera site which has been very active recently. It's normally trying to catch people going south but they have done northbound traffic before.

Here, by a side road as you approach the A57 from Collingham.
