AABIKER I will probably get flamed for this, but I will say it anyway.

Unless you want to race a 600, they are now irrelevant, the differences in size and weight that used to exist between 6s and 1ks is all but gone.
I have owned more 6s than I can remember, toured, tracked, commuted etc etc. they had their place once upon a time, but if you ride the Blade or any 1K
you will only buy a 6 if you cant insure a 1K.

The only real cost difference will be if you must buy new, but with so many used examples around, you can buy a mint year old Blade for the cost of a new 6.

As for the Blade its the pussycat of the 1Ks, the extra power over the 6 makes it so easy to ride, more relaxing, but if you really want to get a shift on, its all there waiting to be used.

For sure try both, if you then decide the 6 is better, I will pass on the number of my shrink ;)

OK, I will now take any flaming that is coming my way..........

    Hi Kentblade,

Thxs for your advice. I'am pretty sure I want to go blade route. When i use to ride 20 years ago I didn't go litre bike route as they were so much more massive in size/weight than a 6 or 750 - so I stuck with the GSX750-R. I'am not that big (5'9 & 11 stone). Changing from the Street TripleR - the blade seems the most obvious route.

Yep, thats is rediculous... 1 owner related to the log book, and number of previous owners...

Hire cars with 100 different drivers are sold as one previous owner.

If they lose a sale out of it, then it it their loss.

Is it not something to do with insurance ?
They can't insure it if they are not registered owners.
And to keep number of owners down on the log they don't register themselves as owners.

A hire company owns the car, but rents it out. Very different mate.

No I mean when hire car companies move their cars on... they are sold in auction as 1 owner cars... they then sit on various garage forecourts for sale as 1 owner vehicle, and can be test driven on trade policies. This does not increase the number of owners recorded on the V5.

So the garage / dealership is talking balls.

There is a specific part on a vehicles V5 for when it is sold to a trader, this prevents the trader from being recorded as a previous owner.

There is no real legitimate reason for not offering a test ride, unless they simply don't want to let you have one or don't like the look of you in my eyes.

My brother bought his first bike (zx6r) from them and they didn't let him test ride it until he had bought it. For whatever reason they just don't offer any test rides on any bikes at all.

Wheels in Peterborough didn't even call after my test ride they just left it for me to come back if I wanted to which I really liked :)

Ditto, although i don't have the newer blade i have a 954 and that thing weights 163kg (dry) and feels ... and looks like a 600, but has the power of a litre bike, mind bending torque and no need to be skipping on the gears all day long.

I had a 2011 600RR for 10 months (Stolen in Feb), and upgraded to a 2012 Blade. The difference is quite considerable (In power). The 600 is slightly more nimble when filtering, but the blade has oodles more power. And of course you're riding in a lower gear all the time on a blade vs a 600RR. So a lot less gear work.

The leg position is pretty much the same. The sitting position however is actually slightly better on the blade. I find I'm down lower on the blade. Both have about the same feel for grip with the legs.

Apart from that the blade is just like a 600RR... But with more torque and power...

Went over to Letchworth Honda yesterday as they said they had a fireblade for me to take out. But i turned up they instead had a new 2013 CBR600RR in repsol colours - so I took it out for an hour. What a lovely bike, really enjoyed it. Chuffed I got on ok after 20 years+ since I had my last sports bike (GSX750R). It also looked stunning in repsol colours. Weather depending they said they would get a new blade next weekend for me to try. It also seems that Honda still have 2012 blades that they are very keen to shift; so a good deal I think can be done. These guys will probably get my business as they have pretty good.

That's what I did AA Biker.

The 13 Blade is the same as the 12 bar new paint so why pay another £1500 more for it?

Got my 2012 C-ABS for £10,550 on 36 months Zero % with a £4K deposit on a 13 Plate and the deals still on so no reason why you can't get similar locally.

Well I rode 2013 600rr yesterday along with a Blade and CB1000r and the Blade is way more special to ride! The 6 was very nice but under powered and felt more like a toy! like it want's to be a Blade when it grows up! but the CB1kr was just plain unstable at high speeds it was shake'n it's head like a nag with a tremor but really torquey a hoot at low speeds!
But the Blade, feels like it was made just for you!
With a perfect riding position! Power delivery is intense but totally useable and addictive! It just feels a whole lot easier to ride! And comfy to boot! IMO the Blade wins hands down end of :D
