    Guys, need some advise please.

    Have owned R1s for the last 8 years,:eek: but very, soon want to change to Blade.

    I am considering either a Repsol or Black (08-011)

    I have a couple of questions.

    1) Heavy oil use, is that more of a issue on early 08/09 Blade's ?
    2) ABS on later bikes, can there be problems with ABS ?

    Any other tips would be appreciated.

    Finally as a member of this forum for a few months (Even with the R1:eek:) I must say, that this is the best forum, I have ever known.
    You are a great bunch of guys/girls, and I hope to be an official Blade member soon

    ps Anyone interested on a 08 R1 in Blue/white

    I have had both 08 and 2011 abs no oil use at all and the subject of ABS has been hammered on here for weeks I have ABS with no issues but if I was you don't bother with it and then you have the same braking performance as me without all the potential mither some on here are experiencing .

    I had an 09 with limited oil use... Just bought a 13 and went for no ABS, just not worth it... Even for the £400 brake bleed, let alone anything more serious which could kill you or remove all confidence in the bike.

    Definitely get one :)

    I have the Black 10 model with ABS. No oil use and as said above, if I were to buy another I wouldn't bother with the ABS.

    My ABS works fine. Bike uses no oil.

    +1 check oil every ride not used a drop in 2500 miles. No ABS issues to report. 2011 bike

    Only downside is dealer wanted £400 to change brake fluid full system bleed exhaust off. Left it not due till October.

    Maybe not much use as I have a 2012 Blade
    No oil use to speak of and I have ABS
    If its there then why not have it?
    What price a life?

    09 blade, haven't used a single drop of oil.
    I went for non abs as I have had so many issues with
    it on other bikes.........and you can't do stoppies [​IMG]

    I have a 2011 blade with abs now with 5000 miles on the clock it has used no oil and I have had no problems with the abs.
    the bike is black and shows every mark and dust.
    next time I will buy a tri colour with no abs.
