As in most things it's a risk equation!

You can spend hundreds on 'Crash Protection' and never have an off.

Slide the bike down the road and grind ya engine casings away, then yes, you'll be glad you fitted them then!

hhhhh, the GB the only seam to part cover the engine
The r+G completely cover it, as my bikes all black except for the engine whats gold might look better all black.

i'm sure what the "pro use" is more down to sponsership.

Always someone to throw a spanner in and get me thinking.

not sure what way to go now

i noticed, didnt like the way the GB left the top of the engining showing, yours is the RR7 and covered it all i think the R+G are the same for 08+ models,
i suppose the only test is if things go wrong, not something im planning

I would have liked a set of GB's but they only make them for 08+

I have R&G engine case sliders and think their crap, 1st one cracked after being on the bike a few weeks (got a replacement off R&G after I told them it hadn't been overtightened), and now the same thing has happened again.

That's probably why everyone recommends GB Racing one's instead! :D

Used R&G for years and never had any probs at all apart from one lost decal that was probably my fault for not cleaning the case protector first. Spoke to R&G and they responded straight away with a big handful of new ones.

Their range of Engine Case Covers have now been approved by the American Motorcycling Association (AMA) for use in any competition.

Just ordered my new tail tidy today as well actually.

I have no experience of either to be honest but 'Approval for Use' don't mean they perform, just that they are safe, and not a liability in racing circumstances.

If, as Jane say's, they crack just because they might have been overtightn'd a tadge then what chance do they stand if dropped on their sides at 100 mph?

Didn't think you could over-tighten them as the bolt heads are made out of chocolate :)

Had mine fitted for about a year. Will have to try and have a look for cracks this weekend but haven't seen any yet. For some reason I am thinking the instructions said the bolts needed to be torqued, can't remember what nm though, so shouldn't have a problem with rounding.

Every EWC team seems to have the GBR's. The price of them is negligible compared to what they stand to lose with an engine dropping its oil. Seriously heavy-duty bikes. If it doesn't work on an EWC bike it's not on it.
