Anyone see the 08 Rad guards on flea-bay? From Hong Kong and £30 with free P&P. It has the Honda wing and Yoshi logo laser cut into it and is steel. Looks the part, and was wondering has anyone fitted one of these. Can,t post an image of it on this works PC unfortunately, but would be easy enough to spot on the site
What these bad boys? Got an smoto one myself, I'm sure it will do the job but not too sure on the styling though
Garden, no one's going to see it down there! And, though my Beowulf has no effect, some have reported higher temps with a guard fitted. So I'd get one with protection + max airflow.
Personal opinion...pants And it must be blocking 15 to 20% of the surface area with the wing emblem and the lettering, plus the way they have mounted the grill to frame looks cheap and nasty.....sorry just my view.
Yup , I take your point . For an extra few quid this one probably not worth considering. I,ve been leaning towards the Beowulf TBH
Just be careful when fixing the Beowulf as when you tighten up the rad bolt the two top locators elevate themselves up and when you think you are done you find the top is loose and after 3 goes it becomes boring also dont be heavy handed with the bottom bolt either as you may find like i did that you have ripped the small metal locater at the bottom of the guard
None of these problems beset the Evotech Rad Guard. Honda CBR1000RR Radiator Guard | Motorcycle Parts | Honda Spares
Just seen this, might be worth a punt to any who aint got one yet and want a cheaper alternative? STONE PROTECTOR STD RADIATOR CBR1000RR 08-12 now for only € 35,00
Went for the Beowulf one this morning on-line.Looks like a well made article.£57 delivered. That R&G stuff everywhere these days.
I just bought one off Andrew and fitted it not then minutes ago. Had to take the bottom fairing off mind
I,ve to do a service on the bike in about 200 miles or thereabouts, so the fairings were gonna be split anyhows.Might as well do it all in the one go. Cheers all
I fitted the Smoto guard last Saturday morning. Good fit, good finish and not a bad price off eBay. But.....a 15 mins job I thought. No chance ! It's probably just me and my fat fingers but them fiddly ties at the top of the guard tested by patience ! 45 mins and two brews later I was done, but happy in the end
i fitted on tother day. very nice it is too. proper heavy duty grille.... i reckon itd stop half bricks.
