Just wondering if the above would make riding more ' track ' focused or are they meant to make the ride a lot comfier ?? Ta
Im no expert in this area, but as i have long legs i find that those which can go down & back make it more comfy on the road. Up/forward makes it more track biased. And not all will go down and back if that helps.
I couldn't find any that dropped the Pegs, they all raised em and went forte and aft. Designed primarily for extra ground clearance for racing, so in the main that'd be less comfy!
I have the Gilles VCR rear sets. I bought them because I have a bad ancle, plus I'm tall and could not ride the blade for more than about 1 hour. The Gilles offer adjustment up, down, forward and back from original. They are also flat compared to the angled up oem pegs which makes a massive difference. I don't need them set to the extremes.
I have fitted a set and they're ok, I have the standard exhaust and find that I can't get the full range of adjustment down and back, I'd be interested to know if that's different with something like an Akro or Yoshi pipe fitted. I find that even if the pegs are higher but further back from standard it changes the angle of your thigh to body so drops your knee which makes for slightly more comfort. Because I can't use the full adjustment mine aren't a lot different to standard. I also didn't like the standard Gilles footrests, found them too short and kinda tapered down so I fitted a set of lightec fold up footrests (available as spares for lightec rearsets) and some spacers to get a better footrest length.
Have just fitted some MFW adjustable pegs with a 25mm drop, at the mo they are positioned down and a bit forward but make a big difference and my foot still clears the stock pipe. Just another option maybe.
