Fair enough, but does that mean you will never use your bike, leathers or helmet for any track days again or just this first one ONE could always get a proper track bike and leathers but still run the risk of trashing that too at some point, or do only ever plan to do this one school day? Would work out very expensive if you hired the bike every time you did one? And only got 3 sessions Normal take your own bike track days work out around £45-£67 per hour btw
I would of come and done this I have done around 30-40 trackdays but always fancied seeing what it's about but from June 16th - August 12th I'm a 1 man army at work as my dad is in holiday I think you have chose wisely Martin also over the next 2 or 3 weeks I'm going to by a gsxr 600 just to take as a wet bike to try and get quicker in the wet summat i dont mind throwing in the gravel . if I have it your welcome to borrow it for a TD ?
I think your missing the point, although we all think we are fast it will be nice to get advice from a pro on what we are doing right and wrong, it may cost only 45 quid but if you crash or are crashed into the bill could turn into thousands! I have never been on track so would benefit from the tuition and the fact finances are risk free. If I enjoy the day and my beaten up body copes with it, I may in the future get myself an cheap old track bike (when finances are better)
I couldnt agree more Martin, It seems good value to me as a one off experience with pro instruction and no real risks involved. SteveBetts was the same as you and went and loved it, I live by the 'everyday is a school day' ethos, you never stop learning I will defo go with you if the date is free and wouldnt be upset paying the full price (although cheaper is always better )
Thanks for the kind offer wedgie, but if I smashed your bike up (even if an old banger) I would feel awful
Na as long as you get picture one for the wall mate I wouldn't mind lol it would take a good un to do mega damage anyway . I'm any getting a old srad mate to do the falling off part on lol
Am tempted but no funds until we can get the annex renovated and rented out Luckily Cadwell and Blyton are close to me and I can get cheaper training at those locations. Spoke with them at the NEC in 2011. They had a £50 discount offer and I said I would love to go but it would have to wait as I was getting married. Nice Lady said to ring as they will normally be willing to discount a bit. Everyone I know who has done it enjoyed it, with the exception of one bloke (ex-racer) who said it was more of an experience day.
I am doing this school on 26th June; just my lad & I. Its his first time on track & I havnt been there for years. We are booked on the sessions which start at 11:00am so its a nice easy start. We have no expectations other to to have a good day out. You would be very welcome to join the Swiss Massive if you wanted sooner rather than later.
I'd like to come but would need a definite date due to work (and holiday) restrictions. Money isn't exactly flowing out of my wallet either, but if nothing else I'd love to come and meet a few of the forum crew, even if it was just for a pint and a chat afterwards . I hate to be so non-committal as it doesn't help anyone, but at the moment I can't say much more than I'm interested.
Don't think of it as hiring a bike (you can't use your own bike btw) Think of it like Race School where a racer will take you round and get you going faster and further than you could think you could go. They happen to supply the bikes and clothing as it provides a safe environment as they know their gear is well maintained. + if you do alright then they'll give you a new Firblade to play on next time

Ok couldn't resist speaking to them today as I'm all excited lol If we can get a group of 10 it will be £260 per person I reckon I may be able to squeeze the price a little more when it comes to booking
