Matlock Bath

Hi , we are going for a ride to Matlock Bath Sunday the 9/6/13
We shall be leaving oswestry service station (esso)A483 at 9.00am ,
anyone want to come along or meet up there , let me know or its just the two of us .

Ps, never been there before, I know theres speed limits , cameras , police
But you get that at most places , this is a nice ride out and not first there wins a prize

 

It's a great place to stop, keep to the speed limits and you'll be fine, a group of us from the forum were there a few weeks ago, the police have a white fireblade in police livery. Oh and we bumped into an Audi A3 unmarked.

I would have joined you but it my father inlaw 80th birthday lunch Sunday

 

i know some nice routes in the area where there arent many bobbies, but yeh, you have to watch out for the plod bikers who know these runs.
staying off the main A6 is a wise plan as thats where they tend to hang around.... theres a few sections with double whites - i suggest you abide by them cos thats one thing they are very keen on! (good)
they are against enforcing the 50 limis which is a good thing - but behave in the 30s and 40s and youll get left alone.

used to be when every fker was wheelying up and down matlock high street and rolling burnouts etc... those days are gone tbh and the bikers are welcomed by the locals and shops along the front - theres still a fair few bike accessory shops there and ccm (?) just up the road if you fancy browsing new bikes

i like carrying on down to coalville for a beer at the queen vic, then back up bast darley moor etc, theres some crackin roads there

hi barney, you will love matlock. i live about 10 mile away so for me its not even a run out, just a short sharp blast. you will be amazed at the number of bikes there and the variety. what i can say also is that you will see your fair share of blades. be carefull of the police liveryed blade. enjoy

Derbyshire has a blanked 50mph limit, real pain so keep em peeled!

Tap in google Matlock Bath loads to do there besides the main drag in the high street.

 

Go up the cable cars Steve and there some fun parks up there.....will try n nip over for a hour!

 

It gives a cracking day weather wise , we shall be there around 11am , anyone coming along
that don't have my number , 2012hrc two up , with dobbles on front screen .

 

Bike clean,oil checked,tyer pressure checked and I'm even going to put my tax disc on... might put my big number plate back on...no sure how keen the plod are around them parts..
Anyhoo`s,just about ready for matlock..

I would have met up with you guys but I'm on a group ride out to 'H' café, somewhere near Cambridge today.

For anyone who's not been before just follow the smell of fish and chips that will be your guide to Matlock, have a great day at my local ride out place.

CMC is not too far away if you fancy a run to a Yamaha dealers Contact CMC Clay Cross some nice roads from Matlock to Clay Cross - beware of police helicopters while in Derbyshire

 

Just heard the police helicopter is about and lots of un marked vans and bikes - hope all had a clear run
