I am getting Shoei envy right now. :D

Here's my Shoei XSpirit Vermeulen. Had it a few years now, will probably replace it next year...

I went out for a sly ride when we had the bank holiday for William &Kate's wedding - roads were dead! :)

I am the same. The GT Air fitted fairly well but I was disappointed with its "touring" feel. The dealer said it has been launched as a GS riders lid!!!

love shoei i does. ive got 4 of em atm and another (xr1100) on the way!
fit me ace and are nice n quiet, stable at speed, well vented, easy visor change etc....
got a shedfull of other lids, all bought in error - arai chaser, shark s900, nolan something or other.

the only shoei im not sure about is the qwest.
i bought it cos it was a giveaway at the price (new) and was surprised at the size of the view... it's like a patio window lol, doesnt feel like im wearing a lid cos cant see it when its on... but, with that comes the larger outer shel...
it fits the same as my others but it looks like big ed :/
and the wind resistance over 80.... on my sp with puig db it was awful, yet strangely on the blade with oem screen there is no drag at ...mph!

I have had Shoei's for longer than I can remember and wouldn’t wear anything else. Current one is a Qwest which (as commented on by vvtr) has a large view area and given I used to wear glasses before having my old peepers zapped it was easy to get the glasses on and off. Ok it looks big but I have had no issue with either wind noise or drag, seems to work fine for me. Now I don't wear glasses, when I change lids it will be another Shoei but maybe a bit more of a sportier model. But as always it got to be plain white only.

Only criticism I have of the new X-Spirit 2 is something I've only found out recently now Summers here properly!

The bottom Chin Vent lets in greenfly (Small insects) etc

They end up flying about inside the Visor!

Shutting this vent seems to 'cure' it but that aint the point, bar that though, an ACE lid! :D

My xr1100 chin vent admits the odd hitchhiker when 'sending it on a bit'.

that annoys me as well - zeroG splattered flies inside the visor!
a bunch of us hit a swarm of bees at a fair pace on thursday, jeez it was like being shot with rocksalt!
mate made the fatal mistake of wiping his visor with his glove and was instantly blind!
ive got them all carrying a rolled up damp dishcloth now, tucked between the clocks and screen.

does anyone use the pinlocks on the shoeis???
apart from on the qwest i find them a pain in the arse - the top of the pinlock insert is right in my line of vision when i'm leaned over the tank.... great when you try them on in the shop but once you get on the bike theyre useless.
ive been using bob heath antimist spray instead - beltin stuff. one spray lasts a few days.
try it - its only a fiver (not that you need it in summer really, but in winter its brilliant stuff.
BOB HEATH VISORS ANTI FOG MOTORCYCLE MOTORBIKE HELMET VISOR MIST SPRAY 50ML 1PC on eBay!
the pinlocks are now in the bin!

My old Arai has admitted quite a few live insects into the helmet this year, I can't really remember it happening before - certainly to this extent.

I considered putting some foam in before the breath guard, but then you would have dead insects in a hard to clean place...:(

I sometimes have a quick chat to the freeloaders before raising the visor and releasing them.

But then again, I drink quite a lot of strong coffee.

Only time will tell on the insect catching I had no problems Sunday thou and my visor and nose cone was a fly massacre. I didn't have the pin lock in either but put it in after my ride as I steamed up once. Ill report back on the view when I'm next out.

It does bring a bit of reality into the computer game when you see that.

Nothing gert lush about an accident.
