Hi All. I'm thinking of treating my new toy to a Road Set Up by these guys who aren't so far away from me. Looking at their website they charge about £50. I've not tended to tinker with suspension settings on any of my previous bikes but perhaps I'm missing something ? Has anyone used them ? Would you recommend them ? And is it £50 well spent ?

My first service is tomorrow. I've only done 600 or so miles since the beginning of March due to shit* weather and also being away for 3 weeks (not so shit* !!). I'm hoping for some decent weather this weekend to get a couple of good runs in and it's looking fine ! :)

Indeed i will.... so much so that my bike is back with them to have my Gilles Variobars fitted ! I have had them service my bike, set up and fit the Ohlins rear shock i bought for it..... have the bike lowered and a few other bits and bobs.... they do know their stuff but as Sinewave says, just take the unmade road up to it with ease, it is only very short though and you will have no issues, ask for George.

    Good luck.

    yup im a regular.

took my sp in when i got it as it was riding like a pogo stick, literally having me out of the seat :/
the previous owner was a big lad and he'd put it on full preload front and back and took all the damping off!

i was just goner set it all up factory defaults but cba.
rode it in and rode out a different bike.
the only thing i changed since was a few clicks on the front damping.

money well spent. as said, decent lads, defo know their stuff and wont just try and sell you ohlins internals!

was working just down the road from maxton today... some beltin b roads round there..... apparently theyve got a 3mth waiting list for set ups

£50 very well spent ! I'm a happy fella ! Job took about 40 mins on Saturday and after a 120 mile Sunday run down to Macclesfield, Chapel, Glossop etc I can honestly say you do notice the difference. The biggest single improvement I have noticed is if you dab the front brake whilst leaning over (not all corners are perfect in my world !) then the bike doesn't try and sit up. It happily now holds the line. Good guys too at Kais. Workshop is immaculate. If you live anywhere near give them a ring. And take care on the pot holed road up to the premises as others on here have pointed out ! :)

Another satisfied customer, i am picking up my bike tomorrow following the fitting of the Gilles Variobars, would always recommend either a decent set up of your suspension or changing it for quality kit and then having it set up..... its always the stuff you can not see on a bike that can make the most positive difference.
