I have my bike (RR9) hooked up to a battery optimiser when it's in the garage and, touch wood, haven't had a problem yet
I have a RR8 with akra ,PCV ,custom map and I still have a snatchy throttle so be carfull when you start spending your hard earned dosh it seems some early blades do it and then some don't I'm still tring to get to the bottom of it
Hi Boyesey... You live up the road from me... See ya at the Oasis... and because your new you get to buy the brews..
Hi Boyesey, welcome home, mate!! So the snatchiness you will get used to. And you should be able to ride it without being snatchy just from getting familiar with the throttle... I found that when I first got my 09 HRC that there is not much throttle free play and that was causing snatchiness... I did not adjust the throttle I just got better with my right wrist!! As for a cheap (free) temporary solution for a fruitier exhaust note, you can remove the exhaust servo cable which will cause the exhaust flapper to remain open (in stock form it opens at 4,000 RPM, remove it and it remains open all the time) Let me find the vid for you... There you go...
I'm going to try an ecu reset on mine to see if it helps. I was also wondering does doing the flapper mod help any.
Meant to follow up with this earlier Molly. Can you send me the name and phone/ website so I can order a couple of these hexagon screws to replace my almost knackered Philips screws? By the way, it was the battery! Only had 2V left! Many thanks DR
I don't know the Part No. unfortunately as I just got the dealer to replace them when they drilled it out. We have a friendly Honda dealer on here (Cox Honda) who is very helpful with supplying stuff at a decent price. Check out the Traders section and drop them a PM, I'm sure you can pick some up for a few bob.
OK. Many thanks Moily. I have sent them a message so expect to hear back soon... Have a good weekend DR
