Help So insured with Coast specialist caravans, holiday hope insurance company. They want £450 for a 2011 Swift challenger 625. twin axle . So a large van but not worth more than 12-14k but they want more money for something thats not on the road every day and my car insurance is less but the car costs more. We have the alarm, hitch lock, wheel locks and it stays in Somerset on a camp site March until Sept/Oct/ then I bring it home Any recommendations on places to esquire about insurance quotes
I have not used a Caravan for many years so I am well out of touch, but my parents were very active caravaners. If I recall correctly, my father used to arrange his through the Caravan Club at very reasonable rates. It may also be because he was a member, but I certainly recall that he used to say that the premium plus the membership was a fraction of the quotes he was getting from elsewhere. Just a thought for what it is worth.
Give these a try Matt, never had any issues. Caravan Insurance for touring & static caravans from Caravan Guard
Cheers both and TC. having once been a member of the caravan club when I was young and the family went to their events. i would not be joining. Very clicky and keeping up with the smiths from what I remember
Fair comment. I know my parents never went to any of the events, they only joined to reap the benefits of the cheap insurance
This is exactly the reason I joined to get the cheap Insurance. I have a twin axle 2009 tourer and awning in abersoch from march till end October with hitch lock the only requirement and its old for new replacement .My insurance is £350 approx a year which includes contents on my awning.
just looking now and for £43 it looks like saving possibly a lot more. may be a member next week good heads up
Snails???? i don;t normally do under 70 sir on the Mway. i know the limit is 60 But I hate being held up when trying to make progress even when towing a 2 ton van behind me that said No I won't. I tent most of the time and the van stays in Somerset for the family to use and get away from work
well that's a no from them. no tracker no insurance. As I said to the nice lady I won't be fitting a tracker at the cost of £££ to fit then ££ each year when I can get insurance without. Onto the next insurance to phone thanks for the heads up
