Perfect thanks. It's just ran at 156.65 bhp, running massively lean with not great fueling bazzaz unit now being fitted so hoping to see improvements.
Mine ran just over 160 at the wheel on a 11 plate, with K&N filter, bazzaz, and dyno time for the exhaust. Nice result and I bet you find it runs better after some dyno time even if standard
That's good going. I was quite surprised with my RR5 Blade as it came out with 166.2 bhp and 88ft/lb.
Just picked my bike up. Well chuffed with the results. Went from 156.65 bhp to 167.37 bhp and the torque figures went from 74.78 to 82.08. A big well done to MSG Racing in Aston Clinton near Aylesbury.
All Dyno's are not the same, some are 'harder' than others. The true test or a performance gain is before and after figures on the same Dyno and ultimately for comparisson against other engines it's about the stop watch. I know of one heavily modded Merc E55 AMG which has spent many an hour on a certain Dyno and had over £25K spent on it with a resultant figure of 706 BHP. 3 months later at a Merc Remap day said owner was persuaded to strap it to another Dyno just for entertainment for the other owners there who were having mostly Diesels mapped. It pumped out 628 BHP and was running and fueling mint, twas purely down to using a different manufacturers Dyno on a diff day. Still Fast as Fuck either way!
Yup different models of dyno and air pressure/air temperature all make a difference. As long as you have the torque that trys to loop the bike then its running good
I had mine done ont he JHS racing dynio who also do Fast bike bike's. it's not known for upping the output to keep people happy But does get it running well so i'm happy
184 at the wheel for mine (90 something torque iirc) with a bazzaz unit and a few little engine tweaks,and was done after a full refresh/rebuild very healthy for blade. top end is all well and good but it's where the power comes in thats the important thing,much rather have less bhp thats easier to use rather a 200+screamer that makes all it's power at 13k
yep definatley up there,but i'm lucky,my m8 is an excellent engine builder and knows how to make a good strong motor without tuning the arse off it.
That is a very impressive figure at the rear wheel, are you sure that's correct? It seems very optimistic but fair play to your engine builder if he managed to get that sort of HP out of a standard engine with a few little tweaks. That would equate to around 200+HP at the crank. I'd love to know what's been done to it?
yes quite sure.any blade thats been looked after (engine wise),properly mapped and running well will get you up nr the high 70's. standard pistons,crank+rods.but balanced+rods matched. no real head work. skimmed block.so gives better compression but still able to use standard gaskets. balanced crank+rods (1 rod was a mere 3g lighter than the other 3,but you wouldn't believe the vibe it gives at full chat). slotted the cam wheels,and advanced the timing.this is probally the thing thats helped more than anything else.getting the timing absolutley bang on is key,and without slotting the cam wheels it's impossible. new rings+shells new g/box properly rebuilt. little gentle warming up+running well before the dyno to seat everything. and thats basically it. i'm no idiot though,i know this is a high dyno reading and could go on another tomorrow and read 10bhp less,but this was done at a very well established race teams workshop (FWD) so no reason so should give it an over optimistic reading. still,like i said earlier,it's not so much how power you have,it's what you can do with it and where it gets delivered.smooth is key
