i cant fin the post from the start of the year but i know a few of us were trying to loose a few spare pounds. hows everyone getting on
I'm still trying, to cut out beer. Lost a bit but when it's nice BBQ and beers come out. when it's not good weather time for a curry and beers I'm getting my Bicycle out for the first time since I had my 3 Hip operations this friday. Got my Gary Fisher 3+ bike out, the garage, dusted it off, service then off Friday for a few miles .... to the pub
Scarily, I lost half a stone during my week off recently and all I can think I was doing differently was walking 6 or 7 miles a day. I've tried to continue it to a certain degree since then and I have to admit I do feel a physical difference. Proves what a lard arse I've become.
"Matt, it's beer here. Come and drink me Matt. No, don't worry about the diet, think how cold and tasty I am...." Was it something like that?
Having recently put on a shed load of weight tomorrow starts the "weight control". (just been out for all you can eat dinner and overdosed on bacon) Got down to 70kg now up to 78-79kg ffs !
Prob I have is too much walks means taking lots of painkillers for me, running is a no no as instructed by my surgeon as is any impact sports. Swimming or cycling is what I need to do and I do swimming weekly as I enjoy it and so does my kids
I went to the doctors with my weight issues.......he told me "The problem is with your feet"...... My feet ???......................yes "You don't keep them out of the pantry" !!
The right kind of exercise is important in losing weight. Whenever I go through periods of lifting weights I find that I have to eat a lot just to maintain my weight if I just eat normal it falls off me. Stands to reason when you think about it. Think of it in bike terms. It's all about the amount of fuel intake versus the amount of fuel required to run your engine. If you want to end up with a fuel deficit you can either intake less fuel or increase the size of your engine. If you build up your muscles then they require more fuel. Especially if you're in the bulking process. Your muscles use a LOT of fuel. Ergo if you want to lose weight, cut the carbs right back and hit the weights.
i do weight train so do take in allot of calories, iust trying to get my gut down. i'm a 36 waist and want that down to a 34, it does come as a shock when you go to the gym how many people are on "gear"and does come very disheartening when my gains are slow. however my balls are bigger than peas and don't loose my cool with a can of coke. cutting back on carb really does affect my training i go really weak, and cant train to the level i like
Spot on right there Rich, it's all down to calories in vs calories out. Just calculate your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) and make sure you're eating about 20% less calories. Throw in some weight training so that you burn hotter all day long and some cardio to burn there and then and you'll be shedding fat in no time. http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/ Golden rule with any of this stuff though - 80% diet, 20% training. Simple formula, hard to follow.
Well as you prob know yourself my body's too feked up for anything physical, I was drinking alot of coke before so cut that out and just eating healthier, never been a big eater just eating wrong stuff
