I had one ,not powerful enough for me, suspension was crap ,felt too wooden even after having it set up, the suspension guy said he couldnt adjust it enough to get it right, they eat rear tyres 2000miles per tyre (i get 4500 out of a rear on the blade) Try the tuono v4 loads of power but 27mpg but who cares if you are using it as a toy? Amazing handling too. Also try the triumph street fighter, another really nice bike that i wish i had tested before i bought the cb1000r.
I too love the CB, But i also have a hankering for the MV Agusta 1090R Brutale.... now that is a stunning bike in the flesh, and rare into the bargain.
Dunlop qualifier 2s . I used to have them on my r1 which i could also get 4500 miles including a few track days
Dunlop Q 2's! Binned them after 400 odd miles on me Blade! They were OK in the dry but show em a damp road or worse and they were shocking!
Had a HRC CB1000 about 2 years ago, I bought one after having kneck problems riding my IOM Hutchison Blade. I loved the CB, thought it was a great looking bike and loads of power. Hated anything over 80 to 90 due to wind blast. I eventually got myself fixed so sold the CB and returned to the Blade. I loved the CB but my heart and fun sits squarely with the Blade.
Which is why i have just fitted Gilles Variobars to my 954..... no quite like a CB but also not as focused as a standard blade, a nice compromise.
