Flash fecker. With my fecked hips I struggle to get the knee down even with very good lean angles Put them on eBay, so daft sod will buy them
Some are sparkles that I can't use on track some are off a old set of leathers I always get the urge and order a new set every now and then ha ha
You and me both. I was thinking of doing a knee down course (where they have the bike with the rigging) but can't see anywhere that offers it at a reasonable price anymore. That and I need a pair of leathers that haven't shrunk!
find a quiet roundabout, take a mate that can do it and it will only take 10 mins of practice to do. its all about proper body position and fighting the voice that says you will run off the edge of your tyre as you wont. wouldnt be paying to learn, thats like paying to learn to wheelie lmao
I don't think it's my lean angles that are the problem (certainly on my previous bikes, still finding my feet with the Fireblade) - it's my body positioning I am sure.
thats why its best taking a mate that can do it. he can point out what you are doing wrong, I find easiest way to learn is find a roundabout that isnt too small (as they can actually be harder) pre warm the tyres and take a lap to look for stones, oil ect cheek and a half off the seat, keep your elbows bent(straight elbows makes you tense up too much which is a no no) pretend the edge of the mirror is a wall and look around it, not over the top or under it, do the above and your body will be in the right position to do it but........ dont try it just yet, use this new position on as many corners as possible for a few days so that it feels natural, then try to put the knee down.It should touch down real easy. oh and always look into the corner because if you look down in front of the bike your body will twist and it will lift your knee off the ground slightly.
I know its my body possition that is the cause of me not getting my knee down. my rear tyre is scrubbed to within 1-2mm of the edge so i think i am getting enough lean angle
I know one fella an he hangs off that much there must be near An inch of kfc strips.thats why its best to get use to hanging Off and shifting your weight on every corner so that when you Try to knee slide it feels a natural position. When you do it a couple Of times I swear you will look back and wonder how you couldn't Do it before.
a cheeck and a half....... WTF dont try it just yet, use this new position on as many corners as possible for a few days so that it feels natural, then try to put the knee down.It should touch down real easy phantom..... that doesn sound natural.... i need to learn cause ..... i need the bragging rights
It soon becomes natural and it isn't so much bragging rights But more unloading a bit of pressure off the tyres when you Shift your weight off the seat a bit. You can sit bolt upright If you like but then there is more chance if something going south. You can do whatever you want with your foot lol, I find keeping my toes on the peg helps
