I always thought that if you have parked up at a busy bike meet and then walked off for food or just to look around and that whilst you were away your bike was causing some kind of obstruction to another bike / veichle that fellow bikers are allowed to wheel your bike out of the way and then put it back or in a safer place ? Watched this happen yesterday but when the owner of the bike came back he seemed a little annoyed that his bike had been moved. What is your opinion ?
I've seen it done but never seen anyone kick off over it. Seen it with boats on moorings too. The alarm would go off on mine.
No wouldn't like it to be honest just incase something happened. I would also say something if I saw someone different moving a bike to who parked it, just because they are dressed in leather doesn't mean they are not a thief
If you move it and it drops then you are paying for the repairs? It's a tricky one cos it's meant in a helpful way but can go so wrong. Personally I'd rather you not touch my bike at all unless I've given you specific permission
i saw a driver in matlock trying to get in a parking spot but there was a busa parked lengthways and he couldnt get in.... so rather than park in the empty spaces further down, he took it upon himself to move the bike, presumably to park it front-on. unfortunately for him, the owner had put the steering lock on and i dont think he was expecting the bike to move in a circle... he dropped it and ended up lying on top of it in front of about 150 bikers, who made him wait there until the owner came back. lets just say he was not best pleased. mirror, bars, rh fairing, seat, tail, rh peg & brake pedal all mullered. STEP AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE. if it int yours, dont touch it. i also dont like people jumping on my bike for a sit-on. happened a lot with the sp's. usually at nooby places like southport carousel where youve got non-bikers letting their kids maul the bikes and nobheads want a picture sat on them, wearing stupid belt buckles ond other tank scratching garments. imo it's a death penalty offence
i park my bike so it does not get in the way of anyone. if I was daft enough to block someone in a would not be annoyed to have it moved. some people just don't think
I got blocked in by a couple of Harley's at Bridge bike night a couple of months back. I'd have needed to be a Jedi master to move them anyway so mounted the pavement to escape. Only just made it then as the gravitational force from them kept pulling me back. If I'd had a 600 I'd still be there now.
You should never ever... Touch someone else's bike Sit on someone else's bike Brush past someone else's bike Even think about asking for a go Smoke near someone else's bike. Basic rule, admire then go
I never park my bike anywhere where anyone would have a 'reasonable' reason to move it, so if it was moved i would be more than a little miffed. I came back to my ex Ducati one day to find a guy putting his kids on and off of it. He thought I was very unreasonable to find this very annoying, even though his kids had jackets with metal zips on ! he was persuaded never to do it again. I hate my bike being touched or sat on, I think I would lose the plot if I found anyone moving it.
I've come back to my bike at college before (sv1000s at the time) to find a little chav messing with my tyre valve... When I preceded to ask him wtf he thought he was doing he replied "oh sorry merrrtt, thought it was my mates was gonna let his tyres down for a joke" suffice to say he didn't come near me or my bike ever again. Little c*nt
Surely the same rule applies for poorly parked motorcycles as it does with cars? You take lots of pictures and post them on social media sites On a more appropriate point, I thought the unwritten rule was you look with your eyes not your hands?
i'd go mental if someone moved my bike, but then, like remal... wouldnt block anyone with my parking. Or at least if i had to, i wouldnt then leave the bike. Mines always parked where i can see it.
Whats this parking thing?? Does this involve stopping the bike?? what the hell are you lot playing at? start...at my house........>>>>>>>..........Park...at my house. Simple lol
The one and only time I didn't mind someone touching my bike was when I dropped my Suzuki TL1000R, the fact was that I was in the middle of town and I couldn't lift it
