Check your purchase order/invoice mate. That should say on it the bike spec as it was sold to you. If it isnt I would kick ass and take names at the dealership. All kinds of laws they have broken. Id be pushing for another bike and all kinds of compensation.............................. What does the V5/logbook say ????!!!!????
Hiya Tyke! just to ditto what everyone else has typed, check the receipt / sales docs and if it says ABS on there go for their throats, thats unforgivable! The comment re your insurance is bang on, those bastards will use it not to pay in an incident. ON THE PLUS SIDE you just saved yourself a possible load of issues with C-ABS and your servicing costs just plummeted! maybe you'll get some decent compensation, for this feck up
Final thing to look for, on the front disk is an extra ring with loads of slots on it, same on rear. Can somebody post a close up pic up of that part. You are not the first person I know of, remember speaking to a lass at Westmoreland services on a brand new cbr600rr, dealer had fitted front mudguard from am ABS bike but nothing else - she thought she had abs. I kept quite initially as did not want to let her down but after 5 mins went back and said 'I'm not 100% sure you have got what you think you have, sure abs bikes have extra parts but all I can see on your one is a sticker' She was going to take it to local dealer for confirmation.
Maybe I have missed the obvious, if so please excuse my ignorance, the ABS models also have an ABS light on the dash, well the 2013 models do
they do indeed, but i suppose from tykes pov, if youve never had a abs version you wouldnt know this. Do hope you get this sorted to your satisfaction...cant beleive a dealer would make this sort of claim/mistake.
OK, I've had a look through the stuff I got with the bike, it is described as a CBR1000RR-A. When I insured it and put in the reg it came through on there as CBR 1000RR ABS. I'm getting confused.
[/IMG][/IMG][/IMG] Ok Tyke this is what you should see it your machine is ABS this is viewed offside (right hand side if sat on the bike) Sticker / Bracket with sensor attached / A disc about 75mm dia which must be for wheel speed . Hope this helps.
Yeah it deffo doesn't have it, I just saw RR-A and assumed ABS. Wonder why its registered as having ABS tho?
Now thats clear you can now relax and enjoy you new status as a riding god lifting the back wheel at speed under full control (Well done)
Haha yeah... Well I suppose there's no big service costs now and stuff. It is reassuring that all the braking I've been doing since I got the bike was all me.
Sounds like some confusion at the dealer. Although I would love to know who the dealer is, prob best to give them the heads up and the opportunity to sort it out to your satisfaction. If they don't then gloves are off and name and shame! If they do then name and recognition for doing the right thing.
Looks like you have ordered ,paid for ,received a non ABS bike so the only thing is a bit of wording on the log book .Its nothing that would get me excited happy dayz.
Yeah well I thought RR-A meant ABS and as far as I knew ABS was standard on the 2010 model, bit gutted really
No mate I have the RR-A and it's non ABS. I thought it was the revision around 2010 that became the RR-B model?? I'm happy to be corrected but my logbook says RR-A I'm sure...
