I think this is one of those less than helpful posts a few of us have picked up on recently.....

Tyke think you're massively better off without ABS and this may hopefully be a result for you where you might get some freebies or a free service from dealer as penance ;)

I can't for the life of me remember the actual advert for the bike but I remember buying it thinking it had ABS, it kind of swayed the sale for me. So I'm now thinking I could of bought a different bike or a different year fireblade. Still ended up with a good bike but now since it doesn't have ABS I'd maybe prefer a big bang r1. :(

Hey bro my little brother had the Big Bang and I can say honestly every time I ride it it reminds me I made the right choice with the blade. Don't get me wrong it's a huge amount of fun and excitement but more like a one night stand than the one you would marry ;)

Well the few of you can go ahead and report that post if it's so offensive to you.
I'm just pointing out that ABS bikes are marked so obviously that it's difficult to miss.

Tbh can't say I've seen an ABS blade to be able to tell the difference, like I said assumed the 201 blade was ABS standard mate

As far as I understand the model codes seen on the log book Honda along with many manufacturers used the year coding in the medel numbers so 2001-2009 bikes was written as 1-9

So a 2006 model 1000rr was designated a RR6 but then they started using Alphabetical letters for the years 2010+, so the 2010 1000rr became the RRA rather than the expected RR10, the 2012 model is RRB and 2013 is the RRC.

The bikes fitted with ABS got an additional 'A' added to the end of the manufacturer codes so a 2010 1000rr with ABS became RRAA and a 2012 model with ABS became RRBA.

Lol wish I'd known this before! Atleast I won't have to pay high service costs and have possible issues. The bike still brakes absolutely fantastic. But as said in the OP it was an emergency stop situation yesterday and I won't post the speed I was doing but I was amazed how the bike coped under such braking, if my tyres would have been warmed up it probably would of fishtailed less.

In my defense I didn't buy the bike and think "hmmm wonder how the ABS works and what identifying features distinguish it from the Non-ABS bike..." just assumed it had it. :p

Don't think your post was offensive at all Jm

But it's hardly helpfull is it... Young tyke is just that, a young fella learning the ropes and made a mistake that quite frankly
Doesn't deserve a kick in nuts whilst he comes to terms with the fact he has luckily escaped owning a computer driven bike ;)

But then, the negative post is one I've seen many a time from you over the years.

Thought you cheered up in the summer. Guess not.

Mate you've still got 10x than some on ere ;)

I stuffed a brand new one in a field and had the disgrace of riding an R1 on the road ever since. And they still talk to me (just... (I think)...)

As said, think you have a better bike for it anyway, lot of reports of trouble with them so chin up dude... And you can also master braking properly :)
