    Under 20K

Was thinking of changing the wife's S Max ( She's liked it and we were happy to go back to Ford, But it's not like her Honda FRV)

What we want. Sporty, fun. nothing to much
    Under 20K.
    Not expensive to run
    Not french
4 seats and a good size boot. ;)
    And under a year old.

Looking at Fiesta St. As per Top gear. But not a large boot, it's a Ford
Kia Pro Cee'd. may wait if the Turbo come's out. I have a Kia Sorento SO happy with them
Honda Civic type R. unsure if we can get it for the money. Great car if a little Fat compared to the first type R

    Other suggestions?

Gt86 mate. Think they are awesome... But doesn't quite meet the boot / hot hatch criteria.

What about the new Astra Vxr mate? Fella had one at the ring and it looked mint!! Nearly 300bhp too

Getting great reviews but not sure on ££££

That would be cool cos the last one was ripped apart by them as it couldn't hold corner lines at all but was fast in a straight line. The focus has an outstanding chassis having won that category for at least 7yrs in a row at one point. I have the new focus diesel and it's upsetting how it can handle almost as well as my S3 did with Bilstein PSS9 adjustable suspension, R32 susp linkages, torsion bar etc. I spent 1000's on the damn thing and this standard model can almost hold the line as good!!!!

keep teh suggestions coming. loving so far. The Gt86 would be the one I would have but too expensive.

I like the idea of the AMzda but for some reason can't find it on Mazda website and seems to start over the 20k limit

Focus St I like the idea. loved my old 02 plate focus

but looking at local Honda dealers the Civic looks good. and the wife really enjoyed her Honda. good girl :)

Yea heard that but surely a chip etc could sort that out
But I suppose you spend 25k and you don't expect to poor more into it

I had 06 Focus ST3 standard I was getting 19 MPG dreamscience, Miltek system with 200 cell sports cat etc 310 bhp 14 mpg average ! so not what you would call economical :) but best smiles per mile car I have owned and sounded amazing ! had a megane 225 and R26 both ace for the money and never gave me any issues from new, havent driven the 250 but suppose to be fast and good on the juice I know your anti french but with a warrenty ??

Are you looking new, nearly new ?

For 20k I'd get a focus RS, then I'd map it.

Hate saying it as its a ford, but honestly think for the money it's the nuts.

I would be looking at a car that we will keep for more than 3 years and I don't want to be buying a extended warranty. Anti French mainly due to know a good few mechs who work on these in the dealers and would not touch them either. And they can get more off then I can

Re last question. Jamie's not read all of my first post ;) lol
