I often miss my 205 GTi, but nostalgia is always rose tinted. It was a pig in traffic, hated ticking over until the oil came up to temperature but out of town, on the twisties... My 206 GTi is better than it in every way. Faster, better handling, way more comfortable but there was something special about the 205. It was a pukka Jack Russell of a car.

Before my accident and lost my memory I used to work for a Peugeot approved garage as an apprentice, we quite regularly were putting MI16 and gti6 engines in 205's. they didn't half shift!
He just got rid of a convertible - wrecker though. Down to a coupe and a woody.... Was talking about cutting roof off that, but think he's now putting in a huge canvas sunroof thingy... We've hijacked! Lol
I think me and your Dad will have to meet Jimbo! Can't beat older cars, spesh pre 1965-70. An era of wood and leather and class…not like the jelly molds of today.
20k and under a year old does cut you pick down. as much as i dont like ford ( currently own one) the ST focus bang for buck is good...... why does it have to be less than a year old?
i'd go a bit older and get the FQ400 or FQ340 and tweek, easy get over the 400 make...... i know somewhere i said mine was FQ360.... i miss type it was 340 i had the FQ340 and just pick up load of bit cost a fortune to run miles per gallon......... gallons per mile
Can I just say as someone who's driven one, avoid the Mazda 3 Mps like the plague, engine is far too powerful for the steering/ traction control / suspension to cope with. I've never known torque steer like it, set off from the lights with a heavy foot and you travel 1 yard sideways for every 2 forward. Me? I'd go for one of these ; Audi A1 black edition You'd have to cut some extra doors in it though d'oh.
