Has anyone had experience of the rr4 and rr6/7. I've been reading up on the improvements they made from the 4 to the 6 and wanted to know if it actually made that much of a difference. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my bike and would much rather hear something that's gonna make me wanna keep mine but after reading up, it looks like they made quite a few changes and I'm really tempted to see if I can get hold of a newer model. Just wanna know if the difference is really noticeable, if not, I'm keeping mine for a bit longer.

Apparently was 200 changes in total, some of which were as simple as moving small things (ecu, indicator relay etc) some bits you could prob upgrade (suspension, etc)

They put Different size sprockets etc again easy changes

A better bike no question but riding fit bikes back to back I can't tell the difference. Unsure if the power went up or the gearing was changed to make it feel that way. Looks nicer too IMO but not enough to for me to want to change. If changing best go for newer version cause a lot more improvements were made.

I Ihave an RR5 and it feels fast enough ;-) my next Honda upgrade would be at least a 2010 model personally, don't really think there as that much difference from 05 to 06 to warrant the change

This makes 100% sense, if your going to change then make that change count, not on something you will not really notice much difference with, i would go for an RR10 and beyond and hope you don't get a '' burner ''.

As others have said. Plus as Martin mentioned about the gearing difference with the 6/7 having a larger, going +2 on the rear will sort this. If you want more power then change the exhaust and fit a Power Commander. There is a rear suspension linkage change, but tbh you may as well just get yours set up properly, this is what most of us have done, but overall as long as you are happy with the bike then just mod as you see fit.

Thanks for input guys, think I'll stick with mine, it's a good enough bike as it is.

Can only add after 5 years on an RR6 and many many thousands of miles, an RR8 onwards is night and day, good as the RR6 was, the latest incarnation improves it in every area other than underseat storage (and thats marginal, bearing how good a 929 and 954 was)

So if you are going to spend there is only one choice IMO.
