Right guys, So as you are all aware (I think..........) I picked up my new girl yesterday. The dealership I went too was Kestrel Honda up in Coventry. At first most of the negotiations were done over the phone and at first the salesman was very very helpful. Loads of pictures etc etc. When I went to pick up the bike yesterday two things p!ssed me off more than you could imagine. A) When I went to look at the service book, the salesman said that it had a full Honda service history. The bike was first sold and registered by them to the last owner June 2012. Which makes the bike a year old. When I checked the service book, it has had the first service, but the second service is due at either 4000 miles or 1 year. So the bike is one year old and guess what..............the second service hasnt been done. When questionned the salesman said that it didnt need it yet............my response should have been BULLSH!T. But I didnt want to ruin my first day on the bike. B) The bike wasnt taxed yet, so pretty much they MADE me ride the bike down the road about 2 miles to pick up a new tax disc with a cheque from the dealership. Thoughts and opinions please !!??
Maybe worth a call to Honda UK to see their thoughts on one of their dealers performance? Surely there are standards they require to be adhered to to be an approved dealer??
Everything considered, did you get a good deal & are you happy with the bike? I bought my Blade from there; the salesman was Richard. I had a really positive experience with them, but I can see your annoyance with the service record.
I bought my previous blade from Wheels at Peterborough, I gave the a week to prepare the bike, however when I went to collect it it was dusty no taxed as promised 24lb in the rear tyre and wait for it The wrong number on the number plate! And wheels are soon to be a Honda main dealer
Let's see what happens Well, I rang Honda UK and have made a complaint. Not happy. Especially with the servicing bit. If I had, had a warranty issue they would more than likely have given me major sh!t because the servicing was not done up to date. The tax thing is just a joke. I would have called the dealership back, but as it was the dealership principle that wrote the cheque for me to go and get the tax I was a little loathed to to be honest. Lets se what happens !!!!
Cheers Wedgie, Thats what I thought and was told by several people or thereabouts. As you said either way it should have had its service. Ive spoken to Honda UK and I have told them that I want it serviced and fully checked over by another dealership local to me at their cost. They have "Escalated" it lmfao, and I have told them that I want it done next week at the latest as if something has to be claimed for on warranty they will be the first ones to have a bitch about it..........
The problem with Honda is they are so wrapped up and busy with procedures, analytic's, red tape and bureaucracy. Monitoring their dealer network, issuing new policies, mystery shopping, reporting and implementing new systems all meant to streamline their business and make them more money they are forgetting about customers and customer service. The amount of blx they ask of their dealers with their franchise standards and constantly moving goal posts to avoid paying bonuses they need to practice what they preach and concentrate on making a great product and backing it up with excellent customer service. Truth be known Honda is skint and desperately seeking ways of making money whilst over looking their money source, the customer.
