    I actually run off a 55 easier than a 50!?

Guess its what your used too?

Always put it down to having a steeper side profile hence bigger contact patch = more grip?

That said, I'd put money on lean angle into a corner being more down to front end??

I have no idea, just guessing....

Front tyre same profile as old one jimbo, can only be the rear that makes the difference I.e taller tyre heightens rear plus steeper profile

i run pirelli rosso corsas 55s and love'em - if your short then the 55s will make your seat that little bit taller - great for lean angle.

I get that mate, not disagreeing, I prefer 55 for "the feel" just not sure lean angle is instantly more by putting a 55 on it.

Be interested in some actual facts about it other than someone's strips are bigger, I must not be cranking it as much!?

Could be a whole host of things like contact patches, personal feel, not used to the tyre etc etc etc.

Lets face it, none of us have any data on it! I can get my knee down and the pegs on a 50 or 55 but the tyres wear differently on a 55 to a 50? But still acheiving same lean angle surely???

I went onto the 55's a couple of months ago and instantly felt the benefit, and you're right, you can be banked over the same as before but will still find you have tyre left untouched. Just makes more of a challenge to get rid of the chicken strips. I don't have any now and the tyres look like they've been on track.

M8,s are now running 180 60 and even these fit ok. The 180 in the super corsas also measures wider than the 190 power 3!!
Thinking about the chicken strip conundrum it might be that because of the slower turn in of the 50, your banked over further and longer than you are with the 55 or 60. So whilst you can hit a given corner harder, if carrying the same speed it stands to reason that you reach the necessary speed ( rate of turn) quicker on the higher profile so don't need to lean so far.
Sounded better in my head than when I type it to be honest. Lol
Still feels more stable to me tho and I'm enjoying seeing how far I can push it before I get the "warning".
