Seen Pete's thread on decent routes and and how handy it is so thought i'd share this.... My dad brought home a book at the weekend and gave it too me, as surprised as i was he'd actually bought me something, turns out to be a right little gem of a book! Bikers Britain. Got some cracking roads that i've done locally and further afield including many on the way up and during the Scotland tours so i know it's of a decent quality and also shows decend roads that i've gone past and now gutted to have missed them. Also puts the routes together for short or long tours so imo a great book to help pick out some decent uncharted roads. thought it might be handy....
Excellent find Jimbo. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bikers-Brit...qid=1374143739&sr=1-1&keywords=bikers+britain
Don't thank me mate, thank the old man At that price it's well worth it!! Really cracking little book...
Cheers Jimbo i will have some of that .I have a similar item its called ''The Best road in The world '' only one page though its about a road out of London heading north called the M1.
Just watched a programme last night on that road only problem was the guy doing the show was super boring so although the content would have been good i had to switch over due to boredom
I know that programme. I remember doing the same thing as you. After about 10 minutes I thought, 'this geezer sounds like an art critic' Click!
Thats another book i have, i havent tried the routes yet. Cracking book, i got it from the book people for 3.99 for an a5 copy.
I have that bikers Britain book, got some of my top northern routes in it - only shame is that it's not spiral bound to make it easy to copy to take a few pages with you. I used it to find some borders routes but Craig's local knowledge won the day.
