    Have heard that if there is a genuine fault, that only the dealership where purchased can replace your bike.
    If I was any of you guys I would be onto them to replace for a non ABS model.

    That's where I am now, back with the reseller. They are definitely more sympathetic and after talking to their Master Technician of which there are only 15 in the UK, I'm hopeful of a successful repair. I should say that I have been astonished by Honda Customer Care, not what I ever expected, its the worse i have encountered on two accounts that being Im making this up and its the characteristic of the bike and their reluctancy to do anything, noting its an intermittent fault, hopefully know one has a bad accident before they wake up. When it's paid I'm off I will go back to where I came from, to a manufacture who bloody cared! Love the bike which is a pity its a shame they don't recognise the meaning of Customer Care!

    Well I have some good news to share about Honda Customer Service, after speaking to what can be only described as a very sensible manager today, they are helping me getting my bike back to the dealer for further investigation, which is of some relief. Im generally very pleased with this as its going to a master technician, who is already reading the books to help diagnose the intermittent fault. I will keep you posted on developments....THANKS MR HONDA

    What's the craic if your dealer no longer exists, like mine?. Knutsford Honda disappeared a few years ago.
    I don't have an issue with my 09 going into a fault mode other than the lever nearly to the bar syndrome when feathering. I just ride round the issue now.

    ohh wow, the cheek of it.

    I had a crash last year, in to the back of a car, brakes just went. I complained to Honda, sent an email to the UK MD David Hodgetts describing fully what happened (I still have his reply email, so they cant say they have no knowledge of complaints) who then put me in touch with Steve Fitzpatrick who's their Customer Relations Manager.
    They asked me to let Honda Chiswick investigate and guess what, they found nothing wrong with.

    I've had the brakes bled since, and the bike works perfectly.

    I've sent a note to watchdog to see if they can help, i'd suggest as many of us do the same, maybe WD will see its not a one off and get involved.

    M1-R1 Yams have problems with TPS sensors failing - makes bike almost stall / cut power pulling away / surge on/off

    Yamaha deny any problem, even when given reg numbers of 3 bikes which had TPS sensors replaced under warranty...

    Tried to get VOSA involved but too low numbers so no interest - that said once logged they did take an interest, but need lots of people reg numbers of bikes with same fault

    The TPS sensors were just over £300 in the end to replace to make my old R1 run right

    I have completed a form and sent it across to VOSA. Since then I have had acknowledgement which is good news. Basically the contents of their response is they are investigating and have contacted Honda for more information. What I have read between the lines is they may see the contents of what we are raising is of some concern, hence why they have approached Honda, although our friends at Honda don't seem to think so...... characteristics of the bike my bum! When I get some feedback I will update!

    Sending mine in to the Dealers for a Full Bleed soon.

    Just waiting for some HEL lines off Arthur!

    May as well get em to fit those whilst they have the system 'open' eh? ;)

    I am not tryin to make lite of this lets call it what it is a dangerous situation but to me one of the biggest issues here with Honda admitting in any instance that they either know of an issue or they have had people with issues in the past is that they then open themselves up to all sorts of legal repercussions!
    If they keep towing the company line of deny any existence of any problems but say they will look into the issue then they can't be hit with lawsuits or demands to recall bikes with the systems costing them money.

    Honda is not the only manufacturer that tows this deny everything policy almost every vehicle manufacturer does it, Toyota has had problems with batteries fitted to the Prius. toyota's solution a mandated firmware upgrade that makes more use of the engine and doesn't use the batteries as much to stop them being drained and going thru as many charge cycles. What that ment to the customer was a drop in MPG down to mid 20's. This was all to save Toyota having to spend money replacing battery's to vehicles as they gave a 10 yr warranty on them. This was all about one thing saving money for Toyota and deny any issue with the battery's and if possible blame the customer and get them to cover the costs.

    Remember the American motor company who's vehicle fuel tanks can blow up under certain circumstances, the company kept quiet on that as it was goin to cost too much to recall all affected vehicles and rectify! It was cheaper to pay compensation if people died than fix the problem!

    Everything is about the bottom line figures and with regards to this particular issue it's hard for a rider who has a serious crash due to this problem to tell everyone the brakes just went straight to the bar especially when the lever works as should be the next time the lever is pulled!

    Tgosai........thats the sort of complaint VOSA need to see, coupled with others complaining about unexpected pressure loss
    These are exactly the issues that the safety system is all about

    I have pasted contents from another posts with regards to ABS Bleeding. Im doing it because I believe VOSA are reviewed this thread.

    "Bled the C-ABS for the second time last weekend using 1L of Castrol brake fluidand following the bleed manual, a quick test and everything seemed good. Took the bike for a 60m plus ride today and everything was good until the engine temp got up to 100c over an extended period (about 40+ miles from home) and the gremlins came back

    The front brake lever lost pressure and came back 5-10mm, the ABS light started flashing again as before. Left the bike to cool down for over an hour and rode back home and the brakes were working correctly until the temp got back up to around 100c again (covered about 20+ miles) and the abs failed again.

    In the manual it shows you how to bled the rear power unit but doesn't show the front power unit (unless i'm being thick ), this is the only part I haven't bled to date. How do you access the front power unit and were in the bled cycle do you bled it"

    Takes 10 mins to complete the form depending on how much detail you want to put down!

    Vehicle Safety Defect Reporting Form has now been completed and sent off. Didn't take long to complete the form.

    just had a call from a guy called Martin at VOSA, I told him about others on this forum seeing the same problem, sounds like they're paying attention and will be talking to the Honda techs about this.

    the advise is to get as many of us to put in our forms to VOSA.

    Yes I have had a letter via e mail from Martin as well today.

    If other owners have concerns and failures they need to contact VOSA and allow them to work with Honda to show the scale of any potential issue.
